Homebrew 3DS Update 10.3.0-28 released

Darn it.

Oh well. I was kind of looking forward to grabbing some eShop titles. Guess I should've figured this would be patched.

Praying a kernel exploit pops up sometime soon even though that seems unlikely or smea figures out a fix quickly.

What does 10.1 have as opposed to 10.3? I have Ironhax, so I guess there isn't something to lose other than Themehax.
I'm willing to wait a couple of days, but is it worth it to update or wait for a fix?

I ask because the information at the moment seems to be scattered about.

Nintendo has added a new check on the server side when signing into your NNID. This check apparently involves simply checking the installed NVer to see if it is up to date. If it is not the most recent NVer (currently -28), it prompts the user to update the system via the internet (Error Code: 022-2511). This check appears to only happen when the console attempts to sign into a NNID. In the event that the user has not set up a NNID on their console, the are able to access things such as the eshop with no problems using HANS.

For O3DS users on 9.2 or lower, fixing this is as simple as updating emunand to 10.3.0-28 and moving on. For N3DS users, they need to download the updated NVer title from 3DNUS and install it to their emunand. Yes it is THAT simple.


For users on 9.3+ with a NVer of -27 or lower fixing it will be a mite bit harder, though I understand smea and the rest are already looking into a fix. No idea how long it will take or if they even CAN fix it without kernel access.

Pretty sure multi-rom menu is broken, but I think it has been broken since 10.2, so idk.

Update your emunand to 10.2.0-28 if you use GW. If you use rxtools update to 10.3.0-28.

10.3.0-28 DOES work on the O3DS with GW, but reports so far have suggested that the multi-rom menu is broken again.

As fro 10.2.0-28, I have no idea tbh. I've seen people say it works 100% and I have seen a few people say the multi-rom menu does not work. If you are unsure, I would suggest updating emunand to 10.1.0-27 (the latest "officially" supported version), then using 3DNUS to download the latest NVer title for the O3DS (check my post a few pages back for the proper title and version number) and install it to emunand as well. The end result should be 10.1.0-28, which is technically a "Frankenstein firmware" but it will allow you to access things that require NNID while still letting you use all the features of GW. You will even be able to access the eshop again without having to use HANS, though you will still need to use FMP since you won't be on 10.3.

Just saw that you use themehax with your O3DS and since sysnand is on 4.5 I assume that means you use it with emunand. In that case you do not want to update past 10.1 or you will lose themehax as it was patched in 10.2.

Just saw that you use themehax on your O3DS. Since it's sysnand is on 4.5, I am assuming you use themehax on emunand. In that case you should not update your emunand past 10.1 or you will lose themehax because it was patched in 10.2.

Uh...sorry for a stupid question but what would happen if I were to delink my 3DS to my NNID? Or is that not even possible without updating? If it's possible, would I lose my purchased games or anything like that?

@smealum I installed IronHax on my old 10.2U by using a latest install and I updated to old 10.3U and it won't load this payload installed dated 2015-11-03 22:44:05 and I also tested another 3DS I did the same thing but I didn't update my 3DS it's on 10.2U and it gave me the same payload dated 2015-11-03 22:44:05 can anyone help me out? I do have oothax 10.3U which does work also I tried reinstalling IronHax with oothax and it still gives me the same payload dated 2015-11-03 22:44:05. Was IronHax Installer not updated with the latest payload? I also tested with other 3DS'es it keeps giving me the same payload dated 2015-11-03 22:44:05.
