if you do not care abut future games maybe its a some what ok good deal

probably better off with cfw

just go to gamestp and buy a used 3ds if the fw is to new just return it and get a different one until you find a old fw
You don't need to return the 3ds. Just don't buy it if it's updated too much.

Your buying used goods. You have the right to look at. The gamestop employee can get in trouble if they don't let you.
Ehhhh okay, I will just order one from Modchipcentral.

By the way I am on 10.1 and I still think a $100 Sky3ds with 5 games on it is cheaper than buying 2 normal games.
Cfw is a much better deal then sky3ds. Go buy a used 3ds and use cfw and use your current updated 3ds for all your legit gaming. You don't want your legit console getting banned after all!

I'm really not understanding your logic here. It's not like Sky3DS has some limit on the number of games you can add on to it. For the same price, why not just buy a 3DS with CFW? You get basically guaranteed support for future firmwares and much more features? I wouldn't spend more than $50 on a sky3ds. In the end, it really is up to you. If you're not open to suggestions and are set on buying this one, why bother asking?

Isnt sky3ds in the internet shops between 60 to 80$? Unless that sd card is a extreme version with fast speed that is expensive.
Those 'extreme' cards can be had for $14.95

The only thing I used my Sky3DS for was booting CFW....

Until I downgraded MSET and then HomeMenuHax came out, gave it to my brother who is on 9.6.

Ok so, if I am understanding correctly, Old 3DS stopped being produced once new 3DS came out correct?

Wouldn't this mean that buying a brand new sealed Old 3DS basically guarantee that it'll be in a FW less than 9.2 and be exploitable?

If so, I'd rather just go for it instead of buying a Sky 3DS...

Yes, all sealed Old 3DS' are exploitable.
If somehow it isn't, just return it (this should not happen though).

Correct. Brand new O3DS is 9.2 or lower guaranteed.

Eh here its around 30 euro and on amazon its discounted to 24$, doesnt seem like a cheap card.

Sky3DS compared to CFW.

Sky3DS is like buying a DVD player that can only play copies of retail DVDs. And you have to buy a TV separately as well.

Buying an exploitable 3DS is like buying a computer that can play any type of video file, not just retail DVDs. And you don't have to buy anything extra.

So - same as everyone else has said, really. Sky is still good if you want to do region swaps or similar (since you need several copies of Cubic Ninja and Sky can emulate them). But for just generally playing games, it is not really well-suited. Well maybe if you're giving it to a young child who might not understand about not updating.

In,my opinion, the only reason to buy a sky3ds is to use it in a non-exploitable NEW3ds. other than that, it's almost the price of another o3ds/2ds.

at the height of the cubic ninja scaplerthon it was about the same price to buy a sky3ds for cubic ninja rom then a pukka copy itself lol.

is it possible to fit all of those games on a 32gb card? lol
Placing games on a softmodded 3DS is even more efficient.

The Sky3DS allocates the full cartridge size for each game, while the CIA uses the actual size of the game. (Most games use only around 60-70% of the allocated cartridge rom size)

Furthermore, all these games are available on the 3DS menu to select immediately (On the Sky3DS, you will need to cycle through each game by pressing the button)
