I have OOT3D but how do I use it to access the homebrew?
You'll need any entry point so you can launch the Homebrew Launcher and then install an exploit save in Ocarina of Time 3D using a save manager. I prefer svdt for that.
If you have access to the Homebrew Launcher, use this: http://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial...-custom-themes-all-in-one-noobs-guide.395652/

NOTE: I'm not sure if I'm being dumb, but OoT3DHax seems to only give me access to *Hax 2.1 (I might be wrong! But the payload in that guide is for 2.1 and using a 2.5 payload didn't work for me. The save file might have to be updated.)

(Edit: seems someone has a better solution, see above post.)

Unfortunately I don't have have any means to install it since I'm on 9.9, but thanks anyway. Guess I'll just have to wait for a different means to mod fire emblem awakening.

Would hosting browserhax on a local server over a connection without proper internet connection work?

I just tried this, it didn't require me to update. Couldn't get it to load the page, though. Probably because of my internet's weird handling of my internal IP Adress (it has it set as an external one because I have DMZPlus enabled) or because I didn't actually do it offline. I just changed my 3DS' DNS to an invalid one. Will try an actually offline server with a proper internal IP tomorrow.

Alright so here is my issue... I installed themehax the day it was released i hold the l button on boot but it just boots into my sysnand which is on 4.2 My emunand is on 10.1 and im still having to boot rxtools thru the browser. What suggestions would you guys have to help me out? What path should i take to 1.) Boot straight into my emunand. 2) Get my themehax up and running.

What rxTools version are you using? On nightly build, go to rxTools menu ->Settings-> X marks Autoboot into sysNAND.

How can you use themehax on 4.2? How? How? You need to teach me.

If this works, then please give us a tutorial! This is much needed for O3DS users who didn't get to install theme/homemenu-hax

I unfortunately have an O3DS XL with 10.1.27 so the browserhax patch has locked me out of homebrew since I had Ironfall 1.1 and have not updated the payload.

However, I have OOT3D and another O3DS XL with 9.9 and Ironhax 1.0 which is still functional. Is it possible to use the working hacked 3DS to install oot3Dhax, and then use the cartridge to update the hax on the 10.1.27 3DS, either by updating the Ironfall payload or installing themehax?

Here's what I tried myself: I used save_manager to write the save00 file to my cart, but I couldn't do it with payload.bin in the same folder. I tried using the most updated oothax installer made specifically for 10.1, but it gives me an FFFFFE error and can't download the payload. If any of this is possible, what are the proper steps? Thanks!

Are you sure you installed browserhax the right way?
Because, you know, you have to scan the QR code with your wifi OFF and let the browser kick out.

Pretty much. I've scanned the code while wi-fi was off, got the error, turned it back on and turned of my 3DS, turned it back on, and launched the 3DS browser immediately. Regardless of how fast I seem to launch after scanning the code I can't seem to get it to do anything.

I just went to the web browser, added the bookmark to the link while the wifi switch is on, and went to the settings to change the dns. Then I just turned off my 3DS, turned it back on, opened browser and clicked on the bookmark to BrowserHax. Takes about 30 seconds for it to load BrowserHax but it works like a charm, every time. No failures, not even once. I'm on N3DS 9.9 firmware.

But see that's the thing, it's a N3DS only fix right now of this moment until another workaround is found.

Just adding.... did a totally fresh install today

N3DS XL (EUR) sysNAND 9.0.0-20E & Browser Version 1.0.9934

Installed webhax no problem, no nags, no dns added, everything installed fine with no problems

This only applies to 9.9+.

Unfortunately trying EVERY fix does not work. So either it's specifically 10.1.0-27 /1.7610 version, or just O3DS versions

I've tested this with different scenarios on 3DSes old9.9/old10.1. The former I prevented from getting the initial update prompt and using the browser works fine.

The latter I intentionally allowed to receive the message solely to test out how the message was stored. From what I've worked out, you are able to get a window of opportunity before you receive a response from the server telling the 3DS that the client is out of date. That time can be used to browse to the payload. I've tested this method out myself a couple of times and I can confirm that it's definitely tricky to get working, but it is definitely possible to do so.

So since we now know this is possible... How tricky is the timing?

I'm having trouble getting this to work on my 10.1 n3DS. I turned off wifi, typed in http://yls8.mtheall.com/browserhax_fright.php to the browser. Then I exited the browser, turned on wi-fi, rebooted console and opened the browser right away. I still get the update message pretty much immediately.
Do I need to mess with my DNS or anything?
