Hacking Quick Q regarding cia updates

if I want to update a .cia file do I just download the .cia update and install it through fbi?

Also, I don't know if I can ask this question here but, if I open a cia and it asks me to update do I ignore it?

if you're on o3ds then you should be on latest emunand 10.2 .... so just update officially

if on n3ds then you're probably on emunand 9.5 - so use cia method

2) Why would you want to just ignore it and have your games outdated instead of updating them??? It doesn't make sense...

By the way, you can only update retail games from the eshop, eshop games will download the update and fail to install at last minute, this is because you can download retail game updates without even havinh the game but eshop only games usually have the updates pre-built so the update looks for your ticket and it gives an error because it doesn't match.
