First off if this is in the wrong place please move it.

My son got this for his birthday today,and wants to use my gateway card. The system came with 7.1.0-14 fw. I already know that I can run the red card and setup emunand. But is it safe to downgrade this one so he can use the mset. Or is there a way to run rxtools or other hand (browser,ninja or homemenu). I have nand and emunand backups from an old teal 3ds. Again sorry for the long post.

I recommend using the browser exploit and downgrading to 4.5. Then install an emunand and use RXTools to install Cia, unless he wants to use .3ds roms, then use Gateway.
