Hey guys, I am very new to homebrew on the 3ds. I am currently using rx tools to play installed gba games, at this point does retroarch offer anything in terms of superior emulation over the method I am using now?

edit

Guess I should mention I am using an o3ds on 4.3

I don't think there's a way to get non-DSiware DS games on the 3DS, so the DSTWO is still good for that.

So is my DSTwo a brick yet compared to this, or does it still hold water?
If you have an n3DS... Yes.

You'll want the CIA builds.

I do. Do I also need the CPU overclock, or that's only for NDS games right? Haven't touched my N3DS in a couple months. Is there a game compatibility list anywhere I can peruse?
The "overclock" is only for retail games. Homebrew runs at 804Mhz by default. It doesn't really matter if you use the 3dsx or CIA builds. (except ps1) They both run great.

haha so .cia and .3dsx still causes issues, damn I can't wait until we get a real release that works good no matter if it's .cia .3dsx or .myass...

Adventures of Batman and Robin still drops to 48~fps during the fire in the first stage.
Just tried that and it drops briefly to 53-57fps on the first fire then goes back to 60. The drops are barely noticable. The rest of the fires don't have slowdown. 10/6 build .3dsx

Ok. I tried Konami Krazy Racers. It was like 25 fps on gpsp compared to 40 fps on mGBA.

Testing on the n3ds
Some games work better on mGBA atleast the official release of it, haven't tried the retroarch version of it.

Can someone help me out here? I am using a new3DS on 9.0 but I'm not sure which emulators work better as there seem to be several for snes and gba... I was hearing reports of near perfect speeds but snes9x (currently what I've tested as it always gave me good luck on wii and pc) seems to only run at about 40 fps, even on SMW. I just want to be sure I am getting the most out of these emulators.

CatSFC and gpSP
