first off sorry if i asked this before i cant remember:unsure:

but i was wondering, for us N3ds/O3ds users on 9.0-9.2 sysnand would it be possible to make gateway mode boot up from homebrew launcher/themehax via a gateway.3dsx?
i mean it sound simple enough and with being done we would be able to boot into hackmode in zero time at all!

A way to boot GW the way CFWs currently do is definitely possible. You will probably have to wait for Gateway's devs to do it themselves though (if they ever do).

It's technically possible for 9.2 and lower of course.

with being able to boot cfw with themehax now just use mset. Or put cubic ninja cia on system nand and boot either reinand system nand or pasta to boot cubic and scan gateway qr code to boot gateway

i know that but the whole point is TIME, doing all that is a hassle when we now can coldboot into CFW's. A huge breakthrough if i do say so myself

It's not easy to RE GW's launcher. And the safeties they put into it are no joke either. I think new users might not remember but the bricks from long ago were caused by clones trying to modify GW's launcher.
So it's not easy for someone else to simply do it themselves. And usually the people with the skills to actually being able to do it are usually the ones against piracy as well so I doubt they would want to do it.

That's why it's a matter of waiting for GW's devs to do it themselves if they ever do.

i do remember the bricks back then, but i also heard gateway removed that bricking component via update a while ago.
funny how we are able to get through nintendo's code and not another hackers XD.
but some people got through the code seeing how there are some supposed Clones of gateway out there.

Yes, and there was even someone that posted documentation on how an older version of the launcher worked (dunno if it was Yellow8. I don't think so but can't recall the name). But stuff changes, new protections are implemented, obfuscation is improved and there's still plenty of stuff we don't know about the launcher. That's why GW is still better at some stuff than the current CFWs.
In any case, it would be nice if someone is actually able to do it. But I don't think that will happen.

then what if we were to instead of using there launcher we just implement a trigger to boot from it, the official launcher has about 3 ways to get it to boot into gateway mode, browser, ninjahax and Mset. we could make something to trigger into that.
BTW im saying all this with the idea that we DO have a gateway card inserted.

GW card isn't really all that important in this case. GW's menu by itself is already more than good enough to justify trying to get a way to boot into it aside from the current entrypoints available. It has the function to format emunand and it has the function to backup the NAND. Those two are the most important ones and even used by CFW users.

The point is that it's not that easy to do what you're asking. You need an entrypoint first. That much is already take cared of since we have plenty new ones, especially themehax. Then you need to get GW's payload. That's not that easy. Then you need to modify that payload in order to be able to be used with a different entrypoint. At this stage we're already reaching the incredibly hard point. And there really isn't a way to "trigger" something. You either use one entrypoint or the other. It's not like you can use themehax for example to launch Mset exploit. It doesn't work like that.

ahh payloads, that i know is hard because it took so long to even run homebrew launcher outside of a game. im not sure but perhaps payload data can be pulled with a ram dump? (thats completely speculation)

we're able to get it in different ways. even back in the days of the browser exploit, we were able to get it as well. But that doesn't make it any less difficult anyway. And like I said, adapting/modifying it is the real hard part.
