For some reason, I can't import a backup'd save of Pokemon OR. After I click B, it displays some text for a split second, then returns to backup/import choices. Anyone else experience this?
That's the expected behavior. Yes, it should be imported already. Just exit, reboot, and enter the game.

The whole process takes less than a second =/ And after running OR again, the save hasn't been updated.
this is my exact problem, I've only tried ORAS, using O3DS tubehax. Export worked perfect, but import acts the same way as you both described

Just to make sure. Is the file you edited called "main" in lowercase and inside the saveDataBackup folder in the SD's root directory? It should work.

Strange. Wouldn't you be mixing files? I mean, that you put Y save insted of OR when trying to import?

Anyway having it SD:/saveDataBackup/main should work for both digital and cartridge copies of the game. (I've only tried OR, in fact, and it worked like a charm).

Edit: Sorry, I mixed you up with the user who said tried with Y.

Are you using Ninjhax 2.1 or Ironhax latest version? You must use D-Pad left or right after pressing "A" on the save_manager app, so you select something else than System Settings.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
