Its not the biggest loss, I could just play it in vWii mode, and every console ever emulates now

Good luck running PSX, DS, PSP or N64 games on the Wii with full speed and very high compatibility :P

FWIW, that last bit is a somewhat well...egregious attitude that is..a bane?

Well I can emulate all of those on PC. I also have a softmodded ps3 that can do all of those minus DS. I have a DS with a flashcard, as well as a 3DS. I realise not everyone has every console, but there are so many options, not having emulation on Wii U isnt the end of the world.

Not, but it's not something that should be ruled out either.

I'm on 5.5.0 and I remember a webkit would come when Nintendo would release 5.6.0, is it true or not?
And can we still go online and download updates?

People on 5.5.0 can still go online and do anything. They can also download game updates, but it's strongly recommended that you don't download system updates. If you haven't already you should block all Nintendo IPs. There is no guarantee that the current 5.5.0 kexploit will be released when 5.6.0 is released, either, but it will be more likely if 5.6.0 patches the exploit path

Ah, sad, okay, thanks :)

Any way to detect if your OpenDNS is configured correctly and that your Wii U won't attempt a software update should one occur in the future? My Wii U is currently on 5.5.0, so I can't attempt a manual update as it's the latest thus far.

Just try to check for an update by updating in the system settings. It should fail.

I'll ask this here too:

When IOSU is released and we gain access to USB ports, would that still require to launch a specific game to access such ports ala Sm4sh with SD cards?
Or we would only need to run the exploits from the browser without the need of a game to be able to do so @Marionumber1 @NWPlayer123 ?

I ask because of the SD access limitation as of right now with things like Mii Maker and Sm4sh being the only mediums to have SD access with the Kernel exploit.

remember the early days of zelda twilight princess and sd geckos? good times.

I also remember the days in which title installation could be valid with a trucha bug.

Oh man, I remember running the Twilight bug for the first time, Snes9x, before the GX releases (based off of 1.43), it was glorious :D But now, the Wii U will be blown open ^_^

So yeah, in essence, emulators aren't going to happen I fear, the fact I know nothing of programming and people are unmotivated, so, let's not bother having hope in seeing them, hmm kay?

Ah but that is too bad!!!

But dont you believe people will want to develop N64 or PSX emulators that could up-res games, like Dolphin does to cube and wii games?

Because really, im waiting this for YEARS!

Ive played the last N64 emulator on Wii, the "NOT64", and it is pretty good, to be honest. I mean, considering that the N64 is a billion years old and still its emulation is terrible all around, what i saw on Not64 was really impressive!

I was under the impression that as soon as homebrew hit the WiiU anything would be possible...

just stick to emulators on your Wii then

You think "the point" is trying to run emulators just because you CAN. There are far better solutions out there, so it doesn't mean you SHOULD.
No... "The point" is that for more advanced systems like PSX, N64 and DS the Wii emulation capability sucks balls. In Wii U mode we have access to higher clock speeds and all 3 cores on the CPU, unrestricted access to the GX2 graphics processor, and apparently 32 times the amount of RAM as the Wii had access to, making these emulators playable and even capable with more than just a handful of games
