Any way to install cfw or play roms without flashcard on 9.9.26U?

Not exactly a complete unlimited CFW but you have the new IronHax and Tubehax released recently by Smealum which allows you to play homebrew at least, as well as using the region free app.
But it won't work to install CIAs or play games like the other CFW do.

I installed the profile exploit on mine; it's way more convenient and you don't need to bring an extra game cart with you.

Gotcha, i use my supercard dstwo a lot and you have to reinstall the profile exploit everytime you play a ds game correct? Or is there some way to make it permanent?

Question:
Has someone created a form of pokemon injector via the homebrew launcher? Or are we still limited to external hardware and spider?

On the N3DS there is actually a way to make it stick even after you play a DS game:
1. Attempt to wipe the NVRAM by launching DS software.

2. Go to the DS Profile and check if the exploit is wiped.

3. If the exploit still works, you don't need to do anything else. If it doesn't read on....

4. Go to the Profile settings and change something, this can be your profile name or the DS Profile colour settings.

5. Reinstall the NVRAM via the Gateway launcher or a DS flashcart.

6. Check that the DS profile exploit is working.

7. Launch some DS related software, then close it.

8. Check if the DS profile exploit still works, it should.

There is no Pokemon injector via the Homebrew Launcher currently. I'm not sure that it would be possible to make one. How the spider exploit works is that it edits your RAM, which means you need to already be playing the game for it to work (the game needs to be loaded into the RAM). Since you can't have Pokemon and the homebrew launcher loaded at the same time you definitely can't accomplish this via RAM editing.

The only other option would be to decrypt the save, edit it and re-encrypt it. In theory this could work, but somebody would need to figure out how to make what is essentially a homebrew version of SaveDataFiler.

Heya. I'm trying to get the latest firmware.bin so I can set-up rxTools, but it's not letting me.
When I open cdn_download.py, nothing happens. Window opens and instantly closes.
Please help.

It's working for me, so the server isn't at fault. Probably a dumb question, but do you have Python 2.7 installed? If it's installed have you set it up in your environment variables?

Yes yes, I have Python 2.7 installed. And, I do not know what you mean by the "environment variables"...

Environment variables affect the way a program runs. Most of the time it's just to make things easier for the user. I'm assuming you're using Windows?

To set up Python in your environment variables open the control panel and go to System and Security > System (or just System, depending on how you've set your Control Panel layout). There will be an option that says "Advanced system settings." Click that and on the window that pops up click Environment Variables. You should see a variable under user variables called "PATH." If it doesn't exist you can create it. Add "C:\Python27;" (or wherever your Python install location is followed by a semicolon) to the end of the value (without the quotation marks). click ok and you can exit out of advanced system settings and the control panel.

Hi, couple of questions:

1.) When I boot into Gateway Emunand through the DS profile exploit am I correct in thinking its a different Emunand then when booting into rxTools through the browser exploit? Are they the same?

2.) If I install the DS profile exploit for rxTools, how do I enter into the Gateway menu? Do I just swap the launcher on the sd card?

3.) Whenever I boot into either Gateway Emunand or rxTools Emunand my home screen layout changes, and I have to load the saved layout. Not a big issue, just a minor inconvenience i guess. Any way for it to automatically load my layout upon boot?

*I have an O3DS with a Gateway on 4.5 sysNand and 9.9.0-26 Emunand (both Gateway and rxTools).

Thanks!

1. No, they are using the same emuNAND.

2. You will probably need to reinstall the DS profile exploit for Gateway. You could try renaming "rxTools.dat" to "Launcher.dat" and see if it will boot. I've got no idea if that will actually work though.

3. You probably haven't unlinked sysNAND and emuNAND. To unlink them, remove the SD card from your 3DS and format sysNAND.

I have done this; no avail.

I'm just going to say right now that this is possible with the new XML app overrides, but nobody has quite done it yet. Definitely a possibility though.

Is there currently any way to play the latest version of Smash bros. on sysnand 9.0.0 on a new3ds? I think it needs firmware 9.5+ or something. I don't want to update, and have Cubic Ninja+pasta so I can't use an emunand. I don't think there are any firmware spoofers that help anything other than the eShop, are there?

Can we make some amendments to this post? The OP is severely outdated, and we're seeing the same repetitive questions over and over again.

To be removed:
  • Buying a 3DS 4.5.0 or below
  • List of games to update to 4.5.0
  • 3DS Explorer (falls outside the scope of "noob")
To be updated:
  • How to use scene dumps with GW 2.2 online (Updated to reflect Gateway 3.4.1, and Sky3DS templates)
  • Flashcart Reviews (Updated to reflect latest Gateway and Sky3DS changes)
To be added:
  • Available CFW options
  • NinjHax 2.0/Smea *Hax FAQs and restrictions
  • EmuNAND basics (creating/benefits)
I'm more than happy to write out the new guides and update the old ones if need be :).

So I just bricked my 3ds. The blue light comes on but the screen stays black. Is there any hope? I installed Reinand, and following this guide http://www.maxconsole.com/maxcon_forums/threads/288463-How-to-update-restore-EMUnand to update the Emunand to 9.5.
I know what I did wrong, I used the download link which was for the old 3ds when I have a new one..... missed that of course.
But why would that brick my system if I was in Emunand? This sucks.

Hello....Again.....
Thanks to helpful people on this site I have been able to play nds games with the blue card. The problem was the wrong format I put for my microsd card. :)
So, I've heard that if I play with the blue card it will remove the exploit for gateway. It seems that I made a mistake at the wrong time since I don't have the exploit anymore that I updated my sysnand by accident. hahaha. So. I won't be able to backup my sysnand with the nand.bin since I don't have access to gateway anymore. It updated to 9.9.0-26U on sysnand. And since I don't have access to gateway I am doomed correct? The blue card won't work at all so I really don't have any options but maybe wait until GW will update which may be forever. Or buy a new n3dsxl with firmware 9.0. *sigh* So I just wanted to confirm (even though I might know the answer) that there really is no other options to restore sysnand currently.
Thank you for your help guys..!!!!!!.. :))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) T_T

Without having made any backup, there's little hope, yeah. Sorry to hear that.

I have a Japanese N3ds running 9.5 emunand, and when I try launching the latest version of Smash 4, I keep getting the infinite loop of just trying to accept the internet agreement. Is there a fix for this?

There's the Config.cia from the SDK tools pack. It allows you to change the agreement settings which should solve that.
Try to search for it on the popular "ISO" website for 3DS.
