I expect they will do that but there might be other ways to escape YouTube as well. The best thing for them to do would be to update the app patching the bug and require everyone to update to be able to use the app.

He's being purposely vague so it's hard to get much out of what he's saying, I still think my theory makes sense but I guess yours does too. None of the things he has said points either one way or the other but when you put it all together I think my theory makes the most sense. There are things he has said that don't really make sense in your theory, every piece fits together in mine.
Why do you insist on turning this into a competition, as if you would win something by being "right"? It's not "my theory" against "your theory": only Smea knows how the exploit will work. I suspect that neither of us has enough information (nor the technical know-how) to provide a definitive answer. I'm sorry, but your "if I'm right, I'm calling it" attitude is rubbing me the wrong. So, for the time being, the most sensible thing is that everyone installs the YouTube app and wait for Smea to release his work.
