Hacking Problems getting GBA VC games to run through RXtools

Hello everyone, forgive me if this is an easy fix, I'm rather new to the 3DS CFW scene

I recently installed rxtools on my old 3DS and it works great, installs 3ds .cia files through the fbi thingy on emunand (which I have unlinked) and they all work fine, but when i try and install GBA .cia files they install fine but when i try and run them it just comes up a black background with an error message. I googled around and found that I also need to install the FBI installer on the sysnand but even though the injection installation of it through rxtools runs fine and i dont get any error messages, when i reboot straight into sysnand and try and run it, it just comes up the typical health and safety messages and no fbi cia installer runs...am i missing something? any help would be very much appreciated as I would really like to be playing Mother 3 right now

Here are my versions and such if needed :

Sysnand version 4.5.0-8E
emunand version RX3D 9.9.0-26E
rxtools 2.6

Hm, are you running it in RXmode Sysnand? If you try to run it in an unmodified Sysnand, I'm pretty sure it doesn't work. Although, I believe that when I tried running it in normal Sysnand, it simply looped the 3DS logo.

Yes and It's the same problem...just to double check thats when you hold R when rxtools in booting through the DS profile screen and then selecting the rx mode sysnand option?

Yep, that is indeed how you launch it. In that case, I have no idea. The only other thought I have is that perhaps you accidentally injected it into the emundand? I'm have only slightly more experience than you do, so I suppose I can't offer that much help. =P

I did it multiple times and made sure to press "x" for injecting it to sysnand so im sure I did i correctly...could it be the way I've been trying to do it? I placed the 2 fbi injection files from the rxtools zip folder along with the fbi.cia file from the FBI zip...could I have been doing the wrong thing?

I'd try to check myself, but I bricked my 3DS yesterday so I'll be 3DS-less for the next week or so. >.>

The last thing I can think of checking is the version and region of fbi that you are using.

Yes that was the first thing I tried when I couldn't get the GBA games to work on emunand, It installed okay as far as i could tell but I still get the error message, thats what made me google some more and find that i need to install them on sysnand instead which has brought me to my current problem

Edit: oh but I installed it on emunand not on the sysnand, as my sysnand doesnt have a cia installer

You need to launch Ninjhax, then launch Pasta in sysNAND mode, then launch Ninjhax again, then launch FBI, change to NAND and install AGB_FIRM. There may be a system title you need to remove in sysNAND for it to install correctly though. It's all in the guide.

Ninjhax and pasta are not terms I am familiar with, all I have installed is Rxtools which I got to run without any use of carts or game exploits but through the browser exploit and using the gateway stuff...

Edit: and fbi installer wont run on sysnand for whatever reason

Hm, I had read that you no longer needed to modify AGB_Firm with the latest version of rxTools. I can confirm that I did not need to and succesfully installed a romhack of Pokemon Fire Red to my Sysnand.

Ninjahax is what we call an exploit that is run using the game Cubic Ninja. A copy of Cubic Ninja, or a Sky3DS cart with a Cubic Ninja rom is required to use it. As for Pasta, it is a cfw. I'm pretty sure that it is partially implemented into rxTools 3.0b, but it also still a standalone firmware that can be used.

Do you think upgrading to rxtools 3.0b would be helpful? and if you do update it, does it keep your gamesaves/emunand stuff etc?

If you mean in general, I believe that they do if they are also installed to the Sysnand.

So i updated to v3.0 beta 7 and still the fbi doesnt want to load in sysnand :3 could it be the sysnand firmware prehaps? It's at 4.5.0-8E...I'm really flummoxed D:
