Hacking Yet another Sky3DS help needed

Can anyone assist with a Sky3DS I bought. My N3DS is on 9.9.0-26E, I have tried a 64gb, 8gb micro sd card and i get no activity. I tried a no name 2gb card with cave story on it and i get one quick flash and nothing. I tried my friends sky3ds which didnt work at first but did after a few tries and my card doesnt work in his 3ds. Is my Sky3DS card buggered?

I have tried holding the button and ejecting thing and all I get with the no name 2gb card is the same old quick flash and nothing. I think I have a dead card or faulty.

do you have the correct region roms?

Yeah. Using EU 3DS and EU roms

are the roms trimmed? and 3ds format? have you tried inserting the sky3ds with the button pressed in?

Not trimmed, .3ds format and yeah I have tried with the button pressed in and nothing. If I insert the sky3ds with doing nothing I get a quick flash and thats it, no activity and no responses when pressing the button.

with mine i just ejected it and put it back in a half dozen times and it started working.

SKY3DS card useful informations:

1. Switch to next GAME:
Press red / blue button , sky3ds will save EEPROM to microSD card, it will skip to next game, at the same time,will read this game save data with EEPROM to microSD card, then you can start to play.

2. Restore single game save data from PC:
With your sky3ds on 3DS, switch to other game(not the game you need to restore save data), and pull out the microSD card , insert with adapter to connect with PC. Open Diskwrite tool to do single game “Restore Save”option from one of your“.sav”files, insert Sky3ds with microSD card into 3DS Slot, press red/blue button and cycle to the game(you need to restore save data one) and enjoy.
Note:If you forgot switch to other game , please follow step 4.

3. Restore all games save data:
Open Diskwriter tool to do “File”->“Restore Save data”, save file to PC , insert Sky3ds with microSD card into 3DS Slot. Then follow the step 4 did.

4. Initial SKY3DS:
Power on your 3ds console , hold to press red/blue button with finger, insert to 3DS Slot with your sky3ds , it will not display any game icon on screen. Pull out sky3ds and insert to 3DS again , the LED light will flashing fast, the game icon still doesn’t display. Again, pull out sky3ds and insert to 3DS, LED light flashing and turn off in few seconds, this means the first game save data has been read EEPROM normally from MicroSD card, you can play to enjoy it.

5. Before you change to new MicroSD Card or delete game save data:
If you currently have game save data saved in SKY3DS, and you want to be change to another new MicroSD Card, you should press the red / blue button to switch to next game, the game save data will be saved from the EEPROM memory to the SD Card.

I've gone through all those instructions. I don't want to believe the card is dead because I get a blue flash with my 2gb no name card lol

what format do you have the micro SD on? fat32, exfat etc ?

I just put it in the computer and formatted it with the diskwrite tool. Does the preformat matter?

Tried exFat, Fat32, NTFS before formatting in diskwriter and still the same results. Gonna have to see if I can get a replacement card.

It's appreciated. Ah well it happens. This is my first faulty flashcart over the years, it would just happen to be my first 3ds cart that was faulty haha!

If your friend's Sky3DS works (in your 3DS), and if his microSD card doesn't work in your Sky3DS, then your flashcart is indeed broken.

It needs to show a game on your homescreen (if his 3DS is also EUR and uses EUR ROMs) about 10 seconds later after 2-3 cartridge reinserts, max, without holding down the blue button.

Hear here. My first DS flashcart for the 3DS (an R4i Gold RTS) was faulty too, so I know the feeling...

its a pita because getting a refund or a replacement for a flash card is always a ballache compared to normal items lol.

Luckily the guy who I dealt with was as confused as myself. He sent me another Sky3DS and that one didn't work either! He happily gave me a refund, good guy for sure. I'm going to wait a few months and order another just in case it was a iffy batch that didn't like some 3DS systems.
