I wonder what would happen if you add a new villager on your rom and someone with an unmodified rom come to your town... His game will crash or load a default model, I don't know... I remember ACCF (ACLGTTC) hacked DLCs, maybe it works the same on ACNL
I would imagine/hope if you edit an existing villager they will see the original. If you create a new 334th one, a crash. (or if you're lucky just an invisible villager, but I doubt that.)

I doubt they'd follow the same rule as the dlcs as there weren't any dlc villagers. Does anyone know what happened with the hacked villagers on CF? I never hacked my CF. 3:

Also, do you think it would be possible through hacking to create Rover as a villager? I know that he doesn't have a proper model, since the only time you see him is sort of in a cut-scene and sitting down in the roost, so I assume that he doesn't have a default walking animation, though do you think it could be possible to somehow layer his design onto the "default cat 3d model"?

So many possibilities, I mean technically is should be possible to be able to replace any NPC that walks with another villager, right?

Jingle already has a walking animation for around town, and personality values can be asigned just with the ram editor. Just a shame I couldn't find a way to put him in that way yet. Hoping Rom editting can do it.

Fingers crossed, would be amazing if we could have NPC characters as villagers!

I think loading a certain model could be possible through the ram, however it would not be permanent. But that would be funny, I'm working on it, also I'm actually trying to swap npc scripts and load maps

Chaning npc scripts is weird, like if you put Luna's script instead of Leila's script (Kappei's kid) in the island, the script won't be executed or partially, the dialogs are there, but the game doesn't save or anything... I wonder why.

Same with objects, if you put the photobooth script instead of the ATM, the dialogs will be there, but the game won't execute the script and take a photo.

That's weird... I can't think of a reasonable explanation or anything. And please refrain from double posting, use the edit button.

OK, so if I try to buy something at Re-tail, it crashes. Any idea what might've caused it?

A link for what exactly ?

EDIT : Map hack succesfully done ~
