You have to install devmenu or similar with Pasta, and then, you have to inject your sysnand ticket.db to your emunand ticket.db and now you have got devmenu on your emunand and you can install cias from emunand.

So now this modified rxtools can install and run cia files, but i need to reinstall all cia's again (gateway installed cia's don't work?)
If i use the twl modified version i also cn run gba cia's but lose mh4u and ssb

Maybe it's normal, but it seems to hash differently every time the unit boots. Going to try the AGBFIRM version of rxtools.dat again.

That's normal. Because the launcher injects native firm from firmware.bin and uses that for firmlaunchhax. So the launcher's contents will change every time you launch rxMode.

So what's the best way to get AGB firm working. I just ground zero'd my emunand and restored a backup. I used GW to install FBI, BBM, and DevMenu to emunand.

Or does this not work with the custom VC GBA games. Anything I do after installing AGBfirm to emunand results in the "an error occurred"

Are you sure you installed the patched AGB_FIRM and not the original one. Did you try with devmenu like I said?

Almost 100% sure. I restored my emunand, booted RXtools with the 2nd launcher in the OP. Then opened DevMenu and installed the file i specifically named "Old3DS Patched AGB_FIRM.CIA" and installed it. Turned off unit for good measure, rebooted back into emuNAND, launched the GBA game that I had that worked fine on Pasta, but still get the error.

Also if you can cross check, my patched GBA firm has the following hash: D85B8DD2BD6BDB7505A294C2ED9874FD

Load rxTools and go to Dumping options - Dump Nand Files - Press X - And select ticket.db

Now, go to the main page and go to Injection options - Inject Nand Files - Press Y - And select ticket.db

Make a backup of your emunand first.

Did you go through the basics? Fw 9.0 or higher. Open theme setting from homemenu to create extdata before installing custom? I'm not saying you wouldn't know better, these are just the common issues people have.

oh crap... ive already formatted emunand in gateway launcher, now how do I get dev menu in emunand?
