Backup your Nintendo 3DS folder and put it in a safe place...
If there is a private folder, back that up too.
This way, if you ever break the game beyond fixing, you don't need to update to reinstall it.
Just replace the broken 3ds folder with the backed up one.
If it still doesn't work, put the backed up private folder back too!!
