Splatoon is worth 19.99$

Seriously.
So frigging this! I'm gonna buy a used copy once the hype settles down for the multiplayer. That said, considering how often i had to rape my wallet to get overpriced Wii U games, i'm starting to develop some sort of inwit and that's not good. Piracy hopefully is soon a thing.

I didn't mind paying 115USD for smash bundle in my country.
But this splatoon shit man... I mean, the game looks good.

But this delayed "free" DLC is bullshit
And don't make me start with this physical DRM shiitbos.

I happily paid the full price for smash. Because it was worth it.
But Splatoon? Nope.

What rediculous pricing for Splatoon. I remember, as a kid, trying to scrounge money to buy Metroid for $24 at KB Toys and now are there not only extremely expensive games but handware dongles (to unlock content you already own on the disc) for insane amounts of money. Greedy game companies themselves are justifying the reason why most pirate.

Well I am in for $60 plus another $26 for the two Amiibos (the squid is not available). Plus 8% sales tax.

I have rather loose morals and no ethics so I am "That Guy" that justifies it with a Gateway on the 3DS. :(

Hey, and I paid twice for mk8 DLC.

The first step is admitting it.

To be honest, I think Splatoon is well worth the money. That said, I can understand people emulating the amiibo because of availability. I get that it seems like Splatoon is unfinished (because it is), but they have a reason for doing it this way - they want to get it out in the wild for more people to get used to before adding more content, it's the start of summer for a lot of (squid) kids, and they couldn't possibly polish everything by the time it took to get this far. E3 2014 to now, 10% complete (with only one stage) to what we have now, is still pretty impressive.

By time there is more content and loaders are made, then more people will want to pirate. Heck, I'm downloading DBZ:BT3 now.

So when Nintendo releases an unfinished game it's okay because it "reaches the masses", but when Bungie releases Destiny with two planned expansions it's an outrage. I see a bit of a double standard here, don't you? Ever since Splatoon was announced I assumed that they're going to release it as a cheap downloadable title, a little game for $20-$25 that's supposed to tide players over until the "next big release". Now that it's been released as the "next big release", I just keep scratching my head wondering how it's okay to release a competitive squad-based multiplayer shooter with 5 maps and no voice chat and sell it for full retail price. It's as if people apply completely different standards to Nintendo in comparison to every other developer.

Yeah, because Nintendo's not another bullshit "AAA" company making DLC just to make DLC. I have no idea what goes on outside of Nintendo consoles because of all that nonsense, but from what I can tell the outrage is because companies do that on a regular basis, to the point of absurdity, and anything that comes close is instantly shot down (hence all the people salty about lack of voice chat). Who knows, they could add in voice chat later after they've figured out latency issues with online (I've had several matches where it lags with splatting ink because bad connection).

You also forgot the inability to select the map and be forced to play the same map for hours at a time. And when it does change there is only 4 other maps it can randomly select from for the next few hours. Such innovation.

I've been trying to figure this out myself. No matter how I look at it, Splatoon is an unfinished product being sold as if it were complete. "But it's getting free DLC later" people try to say, but that isn't DLC; it's the other half of the game you already bought. How is that okay? If a Call of Duty game or Battlefield released like that, there would be outrage and nobody would buy it. Nintendo does it and people praise the game for its innovation and daring to think outside the box. It's dumb. Really dumb. Then Nintendo has the gall to release it as a $60 title on top of releasing three separate amiibos if you dare to want more out of the single player experience that other shooters just give you as part of the basic package. By the time all is said and done, to get all of the content currently available, you'd have to spend over $100 on Splatoon (because let's face it, if you don't have them now, you're gonna pay scalper prices on the amiibos, those dumb things). For $100 on any other shooter, you get the entire base package and the bulk of the DLC, if not all of it, without a physical DRM content device or three bogging you down.

Gamers actually buying and praising Splatoon are endorsing extremely poor development practices and are basically telling Nintendo that it's perfectly okay to deliver an unfinished product and demand full price for it because Wii U owners are just that desperate.

its all about the money. clearly not a thought goes to the actually buyers/customers. this is about the only new title to the wii u and its sinking already. i cant wait to see which game is next on the list for a re-release!!!!!!!!
