*laughs at other Canadians who have a higher tax rate than Albertans*
I would torrent Splatoon if Wii U USB loaders were a thing, I can't even afford $73.50.
I don't even own a Wii U, though...

On top of that, spatoon doesn't even look like a 60$ worth game. I'm just not gonna buy it. Screw that!

Ok people, time for piracy. $70 for Splatoon on top of 13% ontario tax in canada, so $80 for a single game.

Did the math - $79.10. That's worse than here - $73.50 in Alberta. Still, I can't justify paying that much for one game. Mario Kart 8 was pushing it, but this is just absurd.

Aren't all new nintendo games usually priced around the $70 or is that new?
The average here is $65 for most new hit-list games on the Wii U. 3DS I think is about $45.

I'd totally buy it if I had loadsamoney.
I'm guessing the price will lower later on.

I really hope so. I'm not getting it otherwise. It's not a bad game, but $73 is excessive. Heck, if I were to import it from Europe, I'd be paying LESS than the retail price here. Even after all tax and shipping is included.

I think it depends on the game, console, etc.
In Canada, 3DS games are priced like, around $40 or $50.
DS games were priced around $30 or $40, if I remember correctly.

EDIT: I don't remember the price of new Wii games, I was pretty young when my family still bought Wii games, but I remember buying a used, almost mint quality copy of Okami for around $20 at an EB Games last year.

That's odd. Here in Denmark Splatoon is actually pretty cheap compared to previous games sold by Nintendo. It's like $40 converted to USD and they usually take a max of $70 for a brand new game.

What's the price of the 32GB Wii U in Denmark?

The Wii U Premium Console is around $320 (USD)

If that's cheaper than it is in the US and in Canada, then I feel like it'd be a good idea to import the Wii U + games from Europe. I'll go and check the Canada and US prices.

EDIT: The Wii U in Alberta would be $251.83 USD (including 5% GST) but if some or most games are cheaper in Europe, I think it'd be worth it to import a European Wii U, and games as well.

$320 is about retail. I think it's actually $299 here now, $320 was the price for the Wii U+Mario Kart 8+accessories bundle

between 60 and 70 euros will cost splatoon in spain at least, dunno about the rest of europe, and tbh i dont trust this game, i think there will be people playing only the first 2 months

I feel like people will be playing for longer after that, maybe more people after a few months, since the price of the game will likely decrease, so more people will buy it.

Well I am in for $60 plus another $26 for the two Amiibos (the squid is not available). Plus 8% sales tax.

I have rather loose morals and no ethics so I am "That Guy" that justifies it with a Gateway on the 3DS. :(

Hey, and I paid twice for mk8 DLC.
