Okay, I'm rendering the video now.
I'm not sure to understand what a cia file is, so can you tell me if i'm right please?
Cia files are like rom, but they are launched from the sd card instead of being launched from the gateway's microsd.
Is that right?

Because if it isn't, I don't really get it, why everyone wants cia files so bad.
Sd card are a bit cheaper and have higher capacity than microsd card, that's the only reason I see why cia files are so wanted (If what I think cia files are is right)

You're right about what a .cia is. There are many benefits including not needing a header to go online, they are saved right to your SD card like any eShop game, and the file size is generally smaller than their .3ds counterparts.

Ok so I figured out how to convert it to a cia :D

Grab the attached file if you don't already have make_cia then run the following in cmd:

Code:
make_cia.exe --rom=Y.3ds

In this example, my rom is named "Y.3ds"

Have fun!
Did you do this successfully for this mod without it reverting back?

Alright, thanks a lot :)

Opps, I mean going back to the normal version and removing the modifications. Literally all you had to do was run that program to convert it to a .cia?

Yes. that's it :)

Interesting. It looks like mine doesn't change the picture, but that's probably because I did manual install and probably didn't patch those files weren't changed (and they're not on the reference sheet that I could see).

Video just finished rendering. Uploading to YouTube momentarily.

You have to copy the banner manually. It's not added to the installer

Ok, silly me. I THOUGHT I had tested the cia... but I don't think I did now..... It errors on boot.

That command wont work by itself, It needs extra arguments. I'll try to figure it out and let ya'll know

Sorry guys I've been out all day! Ericzander thank you so much for the guide and video it's just what i needed to help bring more people in  I will add it to the front page and give you the credit you deserve! I'll also update it all now in the download + I will add to the guide the part about installing the icon and banner!

Note: V1.1 is now out, it contains a host a clean ups and simplification of the install process!

Oh, I could have said that but I forgot. Yeah it errored for me too. We don't have the xorpads and stuff. Too much hassle imo.
