I am planning on getting a 2nd Vita next week and have a couple of questions.

I dont have the PS3 anymore to transfer a game up activate it.......but I still have the memory card from my first Vita at 3.18( there is another card in my 1st Vita).

Can I use a memory card with exploit games already installed if they are on the same PSN account?

Memory cards are locked to a PSN account and not the vita. You can have 3 portable consoles on one PSN account so make a backup of the vita on 3.18 on a new card and put it in the new vita and see if it works. It will lock to the highest firmware until it's formatted if you intend to put it back in the 3.18 vita.

I'm not a 100% sure of that, so I won't post opinion like gospel, but I'm pretty sure that cards don't work in different systems. Content is tied to PSN accounts though, that's true - you can gameshare on 2 systems provided they're running on the same PSN account.

I setup my memory card on my vita and just plugged it into my vita TV and all is good, whether you can or need to actvate it is another question.

Oh, fair enough then, it should work. I thought the card stored some system-specific info aside from the icon layout table, but if that's not an issue then he's probably golden. How's the PSV TV by the way? Is it worth it or is it a bit gimmicky? I still don't have one of those and I was thinking of getting one just for video capture, I don't want to crack my launch PSV open to cram a capture device in there, the PSV TV's HDMI Out seems like a better capture source.

I went with the Asian model, the white one. I bought 2 and they came with 3.01 firmware so I was able to manually update to 3.18 firmware so it's compatible with my 3.18 vita.

If you are to buy a NA or Eur version it can do the same stuff as the Asian 3.18 but it will come with a preinstalled 3.20 version that patches the system to accept an NA or Eur account. Although it's the same build as the 3.18 I have had to use an Asian psn account on it because 3.20 was never released as a patch/update. Until it's possible to grab the 3.20 I'm stuck using an asian account.

Edit: using a ps3 Controller on the vita TV is awesome lol.

You can use the same memory card in at least 2 systems if they are activated with the same PSN ID (key word being activated) and they are at the same firmware, if you use the card on a updated system, it will lock itself to this version or higher.

Unfortunately I don't know if you can use psvita update blocker to activate a Vita or download something (and activating the console) by now, I know that this works shortly after sony issues a system update.

Does it work with DS4's yet? I prefer that controller.

If you update the console to 3.18 it will work. I've bought a white asian pstv that was at 3.01 (it didn't work with DS4 out of the box), updated to 3.18 so I could pair it with my hacked 3.18 vita, and it accepted the DS4.

I dont know if this considered "activating" or what would happen if I even tried it, but when I got my new Vita, I had the a back up memory card(3.18) exploit ready on my account. When I formatted my console earlier, they were both on the same account. I just put the memory card in the exploit games were showing up ( on 3.36). I didnt want to test a game out, since I was going to update it to 3.50

Only asian white ones have 3.01 so it would be an import job. Try nin nin game store.

Exactly, it's funny that in Brazil it's actually easier to find those asian white models than the black one launched at USA.
The first shipment of North American model have 3.20 has the factory version, it's essentially the 3.18 firmware but with another version ID, probably to force people to update both vita and vitatv units if they wanted to share memory cards.

@SylverReZ, atleast wiimmfii went fine although people only use it for Mario kart Wii

At least if they ban you for cheating, get another Wii. They're cheap as chips.

    not really

It got shutdown because somebody "accidentally" leaked the database for the amount of people using the beta.

RiiShop is the laziest way of downloading Wii games. Did somebody not think of this through?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
although i ended up accidentally changing my nand with no way of going back bc i didn't know you needed a gamecube controller to restore it (i have a wii minus/1.1, which doesn't have gamecube controller support)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, I think you're talking about the recovery mode that the SaveMii used, and also was to restore softbricked systems.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
If your NAND was hardbricked, then just buy another Wii. Or go with the dirty NAND flasher method.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
and if i find the sd card i have my NAND backed up on, i can not only restore the NAND if i solder the right part in, but i can also put my NAND on dolphin, then i can play dolphin online, like PMEX Remix or MKWii Riibalanced

    Brb
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, Oh yeah, that was a thing too. Dolphin does support Wiimmfi.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
yeah you just need to put your NAND backup with wiimmfi on it
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
ngl i feel like if a bunch of my friends have wiis and know how to get wiimmfi and back up their NAND, then we could do a PMEX Remix tournament

maybe even add UMVC3/DBFZ and make it a biathlon/triathlon
