I just bought Alice: Madness Returns second-hand in a store where they test a gamgame, buy it from the previous owner and then resell it.
I started playing it, but after a few minutes (if you know the game, it's after the talk with the grandma on the roof with the pigeons) it says something like "save file is damaged, delete it and try again. I did, but it keeps getting stuck at the same point.

Can I fix this, or is the game broken?

Usually if it's the disc fault the game would have froze or crashed. I don't have the game but if you installed it have you tried deleting the game data and reinstalling it? Have the latest update? Clean the disc properly? If it still doesn't work then I would just return the game and get a different copy. Make sure it's not your PS3 but if your other games save fine then it's the game problem itself.
I had an incident that was the disc fault before with white knight chronicles where even after updating and reinstalling it 3 times it just kept freezing on the same intro cutscene. I just gave up and returned the game to gamestop where I brought it used.

I only deleted the save files. After reinstalling it, it works!
Thanks!
