I don't think you even have to reorder anything, the SD has a record of game position on the SD as a part of its meta filesystem. You just have to keep the first 10 games you played separately from the rest of your ROMs.

No because isn't it impossible to edit the save file of a NAND ROM? Or is there a way to do that?

I don't see how that would be an obstacle, but then again, I don't edit saves. Do you mean converting the save from one type to another?
Could it be caused by trimmed ROMs? The first 10 are trimmed too though and they work fine.
Trimming has nothing to do with this, the NCSD partition in ROMs declares the total size of the ROM without the padding, anything you trim out of the ROM is just junk cartridge makers put on the chips to fill them up completely.

I mean restoring saves backed up from retail carts.

Except on Card2 roms :P Trimming breaks Card2 (unless they fixed that finally)

You can trim CARD-2 games, you just need to leave a little padding for the save. Sky uses 10MB NAND saves so that's how much SAK leaves.

You'd have to convert the save then, sorry, I wouldn't know where to start. Anywho, only the first 10 games you've played can be unmodified, others have to be patched AFAIK unless this really is a blue button PCB, but it sure doesn't seem like it.

The distributor swears it has never sold the red button card, and that they buy straight from Sky3DS. I guess it's possible Sky3DS made a mistake during assembly, and I just have the worst possible luck...

I personally never keep more than 2-3 games in my main partition. I don't like having to scroll through more than a couple of games anyway. I added about 15 to my main partition to verify this and it definitely did not happen with mine.

I try to get as many games as possible on it, I don't want to ever carry multiple SD cards.
A major part of why I bought the thing is so I don't lose my games, Micro SD cards are 1000x easier to lose than 3DS carts...

I just had an idea. The new DiskWriter allows you to divide games into two sections, why won't you put the 10 games you already booted on one and the rest on another? It will still require a PC connection to switch, but you can solve your multiple SD's problem pretty easily this way.

I already did the overwrite format and converted all my games to NAND, I guess I'll just see if this works.

I'm quite surprised, seeing as how I thought peachds was a good place to order from. I ordered my sky3ds not that long ago from them and it has been working fine for around a month now. Sorry this has happened to you though =\. At least you have options!

Like it was mentioned before, they might've gotten a shitty shipment or it was a one-off mistake in a batch. These things happen, don't expect high standards of quality control in the flashcart business.

Yeah, I don't blame them or anything, was just saying I was surprised. I still plan on ordering from them again in the future! The whole red button auto scroll sounds interesting though. Does kinda sound better than pushing the button yourself lol

It has certain advantages provided you're willing to deal with conversion.

Usually it's the resellers that assemble and package the carts, but we can't automatically assume they did this on purpose, it could be a simple mistake since the PCB's are practically identical. Try returning the faulty cartridge first.

when i ordered my gateway 3DS from eachmall.me i got a plastic bag with an unfolded printed piece of cardboard (the box) that grayish plastic tray the carts usually come in, a red PCB, a blue PCB, 2 white plastic 3DS housing shell halves, 2 gray plastic DS housing shell halves, and a piece of sticker paper with 2 red gateway stickers and 1 blue gateway sticker. all separate, just thrown in a plastic bag. I got more of a flashcart DIY kit.
