Hacking Pal Gamecube ISOs with USB Loader GX?

I can't get them to play in color, I tried force NTSC in the options settings but they still play in black and white

Are you using a component video cable (5 plugs)?

I haven't tried PAL games on a Wii.
But that fixes 50hz mode black and white on Gamecube hardware.

nope, but if that's the case, can a component cable output both pal and ntsc?

To the user yes. In a technical sense no. Component (or formats like hdmi and vga) doesn't use traditional pal or ntsc color.

I'm having a problem sort of like this, but instead of getting a game with b/w colors, I'm getting a black screen freeze. The PAL game I'm trying to run is SA2B (yes I have NTSC as well, but wanted pal for more cheat codes) and the loader I'm trying to use (since I can't use normal MIOS because of my wii being the blue black friday wii) is Nintendont.

Sounds like you have a NTSC only TV.

Try running it without any video patches.

They can, AFAIK. They just support more modern video modes as well.

Yes. As I was saying, they allow an NTSC GC to display 50hz games in color.
Composite or s-video become monochrome when that occurs.

They can, AFAIK. They just support more modern video modes as well.

Right you get to have ntsc or pal video modes, while free from the reliance on 1950s era color systems.

The TV is probably NTSC only, but you should be getting audio and a color rolling image.

It is pretty confusing. Those cables often called component used red, green, and blue plugs.
Even though they're a newer format incompatible with the RGB used by SCART (chunky 80s European plug)

Then again, VCRs usually support neither of the above. Are you sure you aren't using plain composite with the yellow plug?

Yes, but they're rare and only compatible with the older model NGCs. That's why a lot of NGC games support some sort of Progressive mode.

Yeah, there were a few different models. Most of it was down to the power regulation and such. But newer NTSC models didn't have the slot for component cables. All PAL consoles are supported apparently.

And the component cables are rare since Nintendo didn't make many of them, with HD televisions not being the norm when gamecube was in it's prime. They can go from up to around £100 upwards on eu sites and anywhere from $80+ in the US, unless you grab a stupidly cheap bargain.

Yes. in 2004, the component cable's "digital av out" was removed.
(the port itself is digital, with a converter inside each cable. gc never output internal analog component video like ps2, xbox, and wii all do)

True, obviously costs less to buy a PAL console than use component to fix the color.
