Hacking I need Controller help!

I want to get a Wii U and make use of vWii as well. The problem is I don't know what controllers to get. Right now I want to get the Wii U Pro controllers for Wii U games and I believe they also work on Gamecube games (Nintendont). The problem is, I don't think they work with anything else.

-Will I be able to play Wii games like Brawl on vWii with the Wii U Pro Controller?
-Is there a hack that will allow me to do so?
-And what about VC games on vWii and other emulators?
-Is there any hack that can trick the system into thinking the Wii U Pro Controller is a Wii remote or a Gamecube controller?

I'm on a limited budget so I can't get a bunch of different controllers so what do you guys recommend?

-Is there any hack that can trick the system into thinking the Wii U Pro Controller is a Wii remote or a Gamecube controller? Again, probably possible because they both use the same Bluetooth connection as a Wii Remote, but not currently

I'm on a limited budget so I can't get a bunch of different controllers so what do you guys recommend? It depends on your family/friend size and what games you need to play. If you want to primarily play Wii games, I'd get somewhere between 2-4 Wii Remotes and Classic Controllers to go with them (you can find them cheap used, and the originals have analogue triggers, so go for those if you can). If you want to play primarily Wii U games, I'd suggest getting 2-3 Wii U Pro controllers and 1-2 Wii Remotes with at least one Nunchuck and at least one Classic Controller

I do know that there are mods of various homebrew applications that support the WUP controller, though, so if you're searching for an app and can't find anything officially, Google "<Name of homebrew app in question> Wii U Pro Controller Mod"

Get at least one Wiimote and Nunchuk, they're neccessary for Wii games and most Wii U games support them too. A Classic Controller Pro will work as an alternative to Wii U Pro Controller that also works with Wii/GC games (a bunch of Wii games only support wiimote+nunchuk though)

One set of Wiimote+Nunchuk+Classic Controller Pro will let you play many Wii U games in 2 player (one person using the gamepad), or any Wii/GC game 1 player. Add more sets as needed. CCP is only needed for VC/GC and some Wii U games. I don't think there are any Wii games that specifically require it, but it sure makes some of them nicer to play.

Don't expect to be able to buy enough controllers to play 4 players in any game right off the bat Ask people to bring their own controller. There are too many different controllers now that I think about it. If any game worked with any controller that wouldn't be such a problem, but sadly that's not the case.

Refurbs of some controllers are available from Nintendo. I bought 3 Japanese WUPro controllers on Amazon because they were $5 cheaper. There is no region lock and I couldn't read the instructions, but there is nothing to configure so that was not a problem. Be careful, there are a lot of knockoffs on the market, though you could get a few of those for light use for guests.

Speaking of knockoffs, if you're buying new, I'd recommend the Nyko Pro Commander. I'm not sure if it works with Nintendont or not (don't personally own one), but I HAVE played with one before and it's very comfortable (and $5 cheaper, too!)

Well, wiimote and nunchuk are Nintendo "official" controller that most games works with(except some VC titles)

Look for used Wii gaming consoles, many sell then very cheap with multiple controllers included.

I´ve seen Wiiflow in that list. Does that mean I can now use a Wii U Pro controller to play Xenoblade Chronicles? Or the only options are still the Wii controllers (Wiimote, Classic, Classic Pro)?

WiiFlow only works for browsing games, not actually playing the Wii games. For that you'll need a controller meant for the original Wii

I have a couple of the PDP fightpads. They look nearly identical to a GC controller with the addition of a couple of buttons and act like a Wii classic controller pro. I use them when playing GC games and smash bros. You can get them for about $20. They will work with any game that supports the classic controller pro.

Except they don't have analogue triggers, which is why I like the original Classic Controllers (not Pro!), for games like Sunshine

True Story. If they made a classic version of the controller it would just about be perfect. I don't know why they didn't. It did take a while for me to get used to pressing the "L" button while pressing the "RZ" trigger to shoot water while walking. After about an hour it became natural.

Thanks for the replies. I decided to get on Wii U Pro Controller and a wii remote, nunchuk and classic controller pro. I think that will give me the most compatibility but hopefully there will be a hack to allow us to use Wii U Pro Controllers on Wii games.

The PDP fight pad is about half the price of a classic controller pro(unless you get the Japanese version) and has a much better button layout. The wii and wii u both see it as a classic controller pro so you can use it with any game that supports the pro.

I highly recommend it if you have not bought your controllers already.

And I'll still recommend the original Classic Controller if you plan on playing any of the handful of games that require analogue triggers with Nintendont. They're no longer in production, but I got one for around $15 used at GameStop a few months back

Nice suggestions, this will help me too, since I´m thinking of buying a controller for my Wii games. Going to research a little about the PDP fight pad and the original Classic Controller.
