I updated Mr. Mysterio's Mod to r331:

Here the links for the dol and the source :)

Thank you so much for keeping my mod up-to-date. I had no idea that Nintendont was being updated so frequently. I've been too busy programming Uwizard to port my mod to new versions.

PS: If it's not too much trouble AbdallahTerro, could you add it to the OP? You could add send0r to the list of people allowed to edit the OP so you wouldn't have to bother updating it each time he releases a new version. It could say something like this:

Mr. Mysterio has created a Nintendont mod that plays the BIOS animation on a separate thread while the game is booting. Here is the DOL and the source. Special thanks to send0r for keeping this updated to the latest Nintendont version.

Hey no problem, I really like your mod and I think it is best if many people can download it on latest version.
Thank you for writing that nice mod.

done

mastermod also updated to 331 in my sig

It saves about 5 seconds at the sacrafice of custom game loader splashes and bios interactivity.
it doesn't have themes support, also it codedumps with mastermod 1054 and loaders that don't use argboot, that mainly why I didn't add it to my mod

i got a weird issue - when i set up nintendont mastermod (using 331), it launches perfectly from Wiiflow. All was working great last night, played like 4 games, exit back to wiiflow was fine.

now this morning I boot the Wii and BAM black screen when launching a GC game from Wiiflow. I was using 1076-mod, so I tried 1054-mod (full clean install, deleted wiiflow.ini and cache) and same deal. Deleted everything pertaining to Nintendont (i acutally moved it from SD to USB) and launching works again.

I'm not sure what is going on.

EDIT - I packed my Wii away so any help is appreciated but I can't test for a few days :( on the bright side - I'll own the home I'm moving into :) :grog:

I updated Mr. Mysterio's Mod to r332 with some modifications:
- BIOS animation should work now even when not using argboot
- nintendont should detect if GC or Triforce-BIOS is used to prevent that you see the BIOS animation twice
(if BIOS is used you should see the regular loading screen of nintendont)
- the standard background of nintendont is now used (if you want Mr.Mysterio's back, just tell me and I will add it ;))
- global.h is not affected by changes anymore
- nincfg.bin (config file) is not longer deleted while booting a game

Here are the links for the dol and the source.

Thanks!

For some reason, this version takes about 5 seconds to load. When I first tried it, I thought it crashed. The official r332 DOL does the same thing. I'm going to look into it to see if I can't put whatever is holding up the boot process onto another thread.

You're welcome!

For me, this happened as there was no config file.
Now it's loading fine

Edit: For me it depends also on which game gets loaded.
Mario Kart Double Dash needs a bit more time than other games I tried (for example Mario Smash Football)

I only tried Luigi's Mansion.

Is the only difference between the original Nintendont and the Nintendon't Master Mod is that the Master Mod has a loading screen and can download themes and other files? Like is compatibility and everything else identical to the original? I currently use Nintendont through USB Loader GX and the only thing that the Master Mod has that I want that the original doesn't is the loading screen before the game starts up. And if that is the case, how do I use it. Like I downloaded the boot.dol and put it in the apps folder in a new folder I called Nintendont_Master_Mod but it wouldn't start up. Kept coming up with some kind of kernel error. (Sorry I don't remember exactly what it said). My best guess is that I need to take that Master Mod boot.dol and put it in the original Nintendont folder overwritting the original Nintendont boot.dol. But I have all my GameCube games and settings set up and working great on my Wii and I don't want to experiment with files I don't understand in the fear that it will screw everything up. So please just put my mind at ease and let me know if everything that I am thinking is correct or not. Thanks.

USB Loader GX looks for Nintendont at "SD:\apps\Nintendont\boot.dol". You should rename the existing boot.dol to bootold.dol or something, then copy the MasterMod boot.dol there.

Thanks. That's what I was thinking but just wanted to make sure. But as far as compatibility everything should be the same right? Like is there anything that Nintendont has that the Master Mod doesn't? Or does the Master Mod just add things on top of the original?

Update: This is awesome. I finally have the missing piece of the puzzle to make my GameCube setup perfect. So not only do I get the box art, disc art and game description through USB Loader GX, but now thanks to this mod, after I select the game I get a loading screen instead of that text (I'm using the classic one by the way), then the GameCube logo animation (thanks to the bios) and then I get to play my games (all of which work perfectly). I know to some this may seem like a lot of unnecessary steps before you can actually play a game but I love it. (I know, I'm such a nerd. lol). So thanks again to everyone involved for helping to make this old man feel like a kid again. :)

There was only one thing I had an issue with and that was using the update feature. I tried selecting the lastest release and it said that one was available (332 I think) but after it tried to download it said "Error -1". Not a big deal since everything seems to be working fine for me and I probably don't need it but I just thought I would let you know anyway.

So, does this updates to the latest Nintendont revision by itself, too? Or would I have to keep patching things whenever a new one's released?

Hey Abz, would the downloading be fixed by switching to a different file hoster?
yes, that's what I'm looking for
gametdb.com should work fine but lustar didn't give the "ok" yet
if you know any host that support "http" download and can have a static link for the repo without hashes and extra security let me know
