Not wanting to dig through pages of stuff, Quick question.

So there is a Kernel Exploit on the Latest and below, and a Userland exploit on 5.1 and below.

Why is 5.3.2 safe to update to if the Kernel Exploit cannot be activated on 5.3.2 because there is no Userland exploit to do it? Does "Bug still available" mean the userland exploit was not actually patched in 5.1?

Thanks.

I have asked the same question before and almost had my head bitten off. I hate seeing people say its safe to update without any proof that the exploit is running on the FW. But I'm from different scenes. be careful asking stuff like that here lol (it causes panic and RAGE haha)

If we can verify that the kernel code we're exploiting hasn't changed, it doesn't matter if we can't run code on the latest version, we can literally SEE that it works by looking at the binary off of NUS. It's just a matter of making another exploit to run code with and changing a few addresses.

If Nintendo release another update patching exploit after public release, will be more easy fix on EMUNAND than REALNAND just like 3DS?
Or REALNAND always can be fixed because WIIU security is more weak than 3ds?
Sorry if I have talking nonsense.

Assuming you don't want to attach any hardware mods to flash a NAND back, you'd probably need an IOSU exploit to use emuNAND and to copy back a NAND dump to restore your firmware version. We're probably going to stockpile several so that shouldn't be an issue.

Do you think the hack scenario is more favorable (growth potential and possibilities) to WIIU than 3ds?
For example, i would like to Watch h264/mkv 1080P videos on WIIU (Homebrew Scene), this can be possible more fast(public realease) than play Backup Games?

Looking forward to it ^_^

Definitely, we already have basic graphics rendering, it's just a matter of streamlining the framebuffer process and data transmission (USB and such). I could probably make a basic picture/video renderer right now, just off the source of Relys' pong stuff. It probably wouldn't be very fast, but that's beside the point :P

It could stream the pictures from the internet and then save them as browser files for faster loading next time. The browser clearly has limited FS access, so the userland exploit should too because it has total control over the browser.

Excuse me.. i am noob.. but caffiine not allow us to hex = no cheat.. but who deny us to hex file on pc before load it to ram?

Sorry if this doesnt belong here but can you run emulators on the gamepad screen and use the buttons on the gamepad to control the game? Or is it screen only and wii mote controls?

As of now, you cannot use the gamepad as a controller for emulators. These emulators can only be played in Wii mode. However, once the userland exploit and kernel exploit are released it will be possible to play emulators in Wii U mode, so we would be able to use the gamepad. I don't think an IOSU exploit is necessary for emulators.

We have a growing wishlist of lots of stuff including emulators in the thread linked in my sig, check it out if you want
