Such a misleading title. They never said it was delayed to 2016, only that it was not their priority to release it in 2015. Huge HUGE difference.
Had you bothered to watch the miiverse video at all, you would have seen that He specifically stated that for those expecting the game to come out at years end, he apologizes for the disappointment.

Good call by Nintendo I reckon by delaying it for a few months. During those 3 months or so the install base of the console will be larger than it would of been had it come out at the end of the year which should enable them to sell a few dozen more copies.

This is not unexpected to me ...I was actually surprised that they even considered some months ago that they would be finishing a game of this size so fast.

Anyways, focus on producing the best game that you can, that is ready when it really is ready ....and not a rush to meet a schedule. That's not bad at all (and definitely seems to have worked for Nintendo in the long run until now).

This is a, unfortunately, rare approach on the game industry actually, but a much welcomed one in my eyes.

Seems people are thinking along the same lines of this being on NX. I was thinking nintendo was looking at the wii and how it launched. TP being right there :/ a zelda game out of the gate would be a very large hook for some people.

Now I'm really more concerned with how they will keep the steam last year gave them that the wii u has been picking up since then. Star fox is only one title :(

Would rather have a good Zelda in 2016 than a shitty one on 2015. Things are looking pretty bleak for the wii u in 2015 now though, unless we get some surprise announcements there is just one noteworthy game coming for it this year and nothing else. So much for the "omg so many exclusives" defense. :)

Good! I thought this might happen! When ever Nintendo delays, it means they are improving upon and or ironing out. Never a bad thing in my book, I'll just keep playing all my other games in the mean time.

Just maybe a Tales HD remake or port for the Wii U maybe incoming.

Namco Bandai says they have a big surprises for the upcoming Tales Anniversary over the next few months...

We already know Tales of Zestria is coming to the West on the PS3 soon and the PS4 will very likely get a new Tales games no surprises there but a big surprise would be either a new Tales coming to the Wii U or a collection of previous Tales ported to the Wii U in HD, after all Namco Bandai and Nintendo have been pretty close for the past couple years.

So what is Nintendo even going to show at E3 this year? Starfox, Mario Maker, Yoshi's Woolly World, Xenoblade. That's about it, and they couldn't even deliver Mario Maker at their original deadline. NX won't be revealed until next year, we have confirmation we won't be getting a new Mario anytime soon, so Nintendo ought to have half a dozen trump cards if they want attention at E3 this year.

Did we watch the same video? He didnt confirm anything, only said it wasnt a priority to release it this year.

Thats a nice assumption there btw.

Obviously, a shocking reveal of retro working on metroid

So, I must apologize to you all that were expecting the game by year's end, but we are no longer making a 2015 release our number one priority. Instead, our priority is to make it the most complete and ultimate Zelda game. I hope to use the added time to make The Legend of Zelda for Wii U into a game that will reward you for your patience, so thank you for your continued support

I literally have no idea how else you can interpret that into anything but the fact that it isn't coming out this year. He even mentions the year.

A little gutted but it can only mean more good things to come. I hope they take the extra time to add in new side missions and such.
