Hacking New Gateway 3.1.1 update (with Cubic Ninja support!)

thorasgar so i have been testing my n3ds with gateway & sadly i can't yet play games as i keep getting "sd card was removed" error where games will then crash the n3ds & i have to reboot & start over. maybe the problem is the card slot on my n3ds ?? but i'm about to order a kingston 64gb just to be sure it's not the sandisk card that's causing this error.

From what I see on ebay it would be cheaper to buy a sky3ds and use the 3ds file..

I guess it could be the 3ds or the gateway. Hard to know.

Maybe try some electronics cleaner and clean the contacts?

Just tried to update a game, was told that a system update was required. Updated my emunand, and now when I launch the exploit, the gateway omega screen shows, then black screens when loading emunand. Can anyone confirm this?
EDIT: Just tried with both old and new 3DS. NINTENDO HAS PUSHED A NEW UPDATE. EMUNAND IS BROKEN. PROCEED WITH CAUTION!!!!

N3DS, emuNAND 9.5.0-23 here. I just got the system update nag. Didn't apply it yet.

He doesn't have to be brave to update. You just keep a backup of your emunand on your computer. if the new update breaks emunand then inject your backup back on the micro sd card.

how do you backup the gateway sd card ? i copied all the files & folders from the micro sd card & i formatted the micro sd then made a new emunand partition & updated that to 9.5.0-23 i then copied all the files & folders back to the micro sd but everything is now gone every single cia file i installed is gone so many hours wasted ??!!

Because Emunand is stored in a hidden partition, you can't just drag it or copy/paste you need to use emunand tool to make a backup of it or similar apps.

well all i have been doing on this console since the n3ds support came out is testing but hopefully i will get there in the end!! by the way how do you make a successful backup of your entire micro sd card with all of the installed cia games ?

Emunand tool takes care of the emunand partition. Combine that with the folders and you have a complete backup.

Especially given the recent news keep a copy on the cloud or offsite as well.

shit i must have updated just in time!

my CN finally came today at like 10 AM and i set up and updated my emunand at like 3:00 PM EST

then i set up and installed and updated emunand on a friends US N3ds at like 5:00 PM EST

so i must have done it just in time!

good thing i didn't procrastinate any longer than i did

but im still on like 9.2 and 9.0 on my older 3ds and old 3ds xl and my friends is too
but according to GW old 3ds emunand will always be fixable N3ds no so much they said

Welp, time for GW to roll out another update... it'll be okay. They expected this. As long as no one touches their sysNAND, eventually GW will fix it.

But like they said...

DO NOT UPDATE PAST SYSNAND 9.2!!!!!

EmuNAND will get fixed. Relax. For those with a working 9.5 emuNAND, sit on it. You'll just make it worse by trying to fix something they are already fixing.

Once they roll out the new GW emuNAND 9.6 patch, THEN do all your version updates and transfers and eShop access...

Just relax.

As for DS flashcarts... looks like they'll be fine. They're not after DS. Just 3DS.

As for Sky3DS users... looks like things are gonna get a bit harder. Yes, it still works, yes, it could be worse. But right now Ban Hammers are your enemy. If you can't get private headers, good luck... Play without online. You can Streetpass, you can play over network, just no ONLINE/INTERNET play (looks at you Smash Bros. addicts).

If you have private headers from your dumped ROMs, edit your template and enjoy.

But if you're like me, hoping for a miracle, yeah.... no. Just gonna sit on 9.5-22u until they find another way to pokeinject.

REMEMBER:

power off 3ds

hold LT+RT+A+d-pad UP and turn on 3DS

it will boot into update screen

HIT CANCEL

it will power off

power back on, system update prompt should go away

Sit on your Gateway until 9.6 patch comes out (prolly by this weekend or next).
