Nah. OSKA started as a derivative of KARL to open-source the parts that KARL wouldn't. It makes sense for the OSKA devs to put OSKA on a temporary hiatus while assisting the KARL team in finishing their project.

The best analogy I can think of off the top of my head would be if Carlsson Tuning was directly assisting Mercedes in the design of a vehicle that does everything Mercedes wants with the stock features, but was optimized for the inclusion of Carlsson Tuning custom options to give the end-user the experience they want.

That's why I said whichever one get a working rom loader... So it sounds like KARL is out the window if all it offers is region-free.
