Hacking [HELP] SuperCard DSTwo OR Cubic Ninja

I'm looking at buying a new flashcart for my N3DS while we are on the gaitwait train and I'm stuck on getting a copy of either Cubic Ninja for Ninjhax or a Supercard DSTwo. Please don't answer with "Get Both!" because I know they are both affordable.

The Homebrew store looks cool, but I'd probably only be using it for emulators. I also have an R4 card already, but am really looking for some better emulators since emulator support on the R4 cards has really gone to crap.

What else is available on the Homebrew scene that may sway my decision? I remember getting Doom and some other older games working on my original DS with R4 card which may be cool to play. Would I also be able to play regular DS games or GBA games through Ninjhax?

The DSTWO will let you:
- Play DS games
- Play DS homebrew (the DS homebrew is much more matured than the 3ds's)
- GBA Emulation (and better SNES emulation)

Cubic Ninja will let you:
- Play 3DS homebrew (without sound - for now)
- Potentially enable custom firmware, etc in the future via KARL3DS project.

It's really all about what you want to do and whether you're wiling to wait for the 3DS scene to mature more.

Well, you already have a DS flashcart, so you don't really need a Supercard DSTWO for DS roms.

For emulation, you would have a better experience with the emulators on ninjhax. The SNES emulator on ninjhax works better than the SNES emulator on the Supercard DSTWO. Also, KARL3DS is making some great progress with kernal access for homebrew so emulators will be able to run even better and have roms be more playable and run at better frame rates and maybe even at full speed. But you would have to wait for KARL3DS to be finished and the emulators to be programmed and set up and optimized to take advantage of the kernal access that KARL3DS has.

On the Old3DS, iirc, emulators have sound working on ninjhax. But on the New3DS, there are some problems that need to be addressed to get sound working, but KARL3DS will be able to fix that problem, hopefully. With only Ninjhax, there's a pretty big limit to what the emulators could do as it doesn't have kernal access, but with KARL3DS, it can help emulation for games to run better and faster as they will be able to have more access to the memory of the Old3DS and New3DS since it does have kernal access. Of course, to use KARL3DS and Ninjhax, you still need Cubic Ninja and a 3DS on firmwares 9.2 and below.

Got it, so ninjhax still has limitations on the N3DS for the time being. I may go with a DSTwo then since it seems everyone praises them and I'm sick of buying a new R4 card every time they make a "new" revision.

Well, it's completely your choice.

I think that if you have a Gateway you will be able to install CIA versions of home-brew like BlargSnes , and it will have sound that way. No one knows for sure because N3DS compatibility is unreleased as of now.

Short answer: DSTwo just because its a great card for DS and does have GBA Emulation running okay(ish) in some games, but i would consider a Gateway instead of any of those cards.

i would say.....get a sky3ds

PS you will struggle to find a DSTWO, they have pretty much sold out everywhere and nowhere is getting any more stock, unless you find one second hand

I have a GW card already, but am looking for something in the short term while we all wait for the N3DS support.

Get the DSTwo you have emulation options right out of the box and you can play DS backups
