What else is he up to?
From what I understand, he believes he can dump the remaining keys from the Wii U
What else is he up to?
How much is a unit where your from? Also il gladly donate 45 pounds as soon as someone buys my ps4
If someone could update me on the current situation (who's working on what, are we any closer to an exploit, is someone missing something, are donations needed), I pledge $100 to the person who is actively working on an exploit and needs funding for whatever reason (broken Wii U, missing equipment, food & beer).
I can only do PayPal. I wish that person takes me up on the offer personally and I will post a screenshot of the transaction here to show my support. I really want to see a working exploit on the Wii U, whatever it takes. If someone gives me a comprehensive update on where we are right now, I may even up my offer. 100% serious.
I haven't been following the Homebrew community religiously, who is this Hykem person?
Is he sort of like the MrBean35000VR of console hacking? (Bean is sort of like a god in the Mario Kart modding world, for example.)

Woah, that's interesting! I knew that IOSU was being worked on in the shadowy depths of the community, but "developments" is the first I've heard about it progress-wise in a while! There have been developments regarding the IOSU, which I won't disclose for obvious reasons. Marionumber1 is aware of this as well, but our current priority is the kernel exploit and homebrew.
It goes around 180 pounds/250 euros/280 dollars. An used unit can be found a bit cheaper, but the price range is around those values.

Yes and your point?Probably a stupid question but is Marionumber1 actually only 15? (like his profile says)
Thanks for the reply. You answered my questions and took me up on my offer, I'm a man of my word.Currently, the only team active is the one behind this: https://bitbucket.org/Marionumber1/wiiu-userspace
Marionumber1 and me are working on designing and writing ROP chains for kernel exploitation. We have a concept of a kernel exploit and we're fine tuning it to achieve a 100% success rate. NWPlayer123, Relys and NeKit are the currently active testers.
With a working kernel exploit we are able to get homebrew running, so, we're quite close to that. Further steps include exploiting the IOSU to get the rest of the keys found by Fail0verflow, for example.
Nonetheless, the main focus is this exploit. After that, we plan on writing a new WebKit exploit using one of the available bugs we've confirmed to work and port wiiu-userspace to firmware 5.1.1 and higher.
The point of having my own Wii U is so we can stop relying so much on remote testing. Marionumber1 has had his unit updated by accident and I don't have a Wii U, so we depend on the availability of the current testers to further develop anything.
With my own Wii U, I can easily write and re-write ROP chains, run exploits and patch code in a matter of minutes. Without it, we need to reverse engineer everything first and then send out to the testers, which may take anything from minutes to hours until we have results.
Anyway, if you do wish to donate any amount (PayPal), you can use http://jpcsp.org/ as jammybudga777 mentioned. JPCSP is a project I work on, so the money you donate there will go to me afterwards.
Hopefully there aren't restrictions with the exploit (anti-piracy bullshit)
it was his point to determine whether or not marionumber1 is actually 15, as his skill with coding is quite advanced - and you confirmed it.Yes and your point?
Well idk, it just sounded a bit odd that a 15 year old was using PPC assembly (I think??) to hack a console made by a multi-billion dollar company. That's really freaking impressive.Yes and your point?
I started programming at 12, with FORTRAN no less. What world are you living in?Well idk, it just sounded a bit odd that a 15 year old was using PPC assembly (I think??) to hack a console made by a multi-billion dollar company. That's really freaking impressive.
Marcan, Comex et al all began early and have natural abilities. People are hacking banking systems. Microsoft and other companies had systems hacke. The info has been around for years if not decades; there are always holes. NSA, Microsoft and security companies leave back doors. It seems the Wii U cannot have a PERSISTENT HACK. No boot rom exploits, no boot1 key, and this might be what is said publicly.Well idk, it just sounded a bit odd that a 15 year old was using PPC assembly (I think??) to hack a console made by a multi-billion dollar company. but that's really freaking impressive.
I'm 13 and learning C. I'm not saying I don't believe you, just that it's impressive. And it's not like people don't fake their age on online forums, so I wasn't entirely sure if he was actually 15 or not.I started programming at 12, with FORTRAN no less. What world are you living in?
Same happened with the Smash Brawl Hacking god BlackJax96 (He was only 12) and made some programs even the Mario Kart hacking community uses (BrawlBox). Nothing surprises me now.Well idk, it just sounded a bit odd that a 15 year old was using PPC assembly (I think??) to hack a console made by a multi-billion dollar company. The people working on this stuff are free to do what they want with it. If they want to make piracy difficult then they have the right to do so.Hopefully there aren't restrictions with the exploit (anti-piracy bullshit)
