My girlfriend updated her 2DS to 9.5. I was wondering if it is possible to use a hardware mod to downgrade back to the 9.2 dump I made using gateway. I've browsed the forums a bunch and seen no solid answer on the success of a 2ds nand downgrade. Someone please help. I am also curious (as I haven't messed with .cia files) whether cia eshop games work on sysNAND

yeah just to confirm the 2DS nand mod does work and downgrading works fine, just note that the 2DS is more picky in regards to what SD readers work for nand reading/writing, and try to keep the cables as short as possible

i would suggest maybe sending to someone like hundshamer if your not to confident soldering or whatever i only suggest people with soldering experience as a few people have screwed up their console trying

I am comfortable with my soldering skills as I have been repairing DS lite power switches and shoulder buttons for quite some time now. I just havent seen a guide as easy to follow as the 3ds xl guide that shows what points to connect to. Something that links to the software would be wonderful too. (Pc and raspberry pi methods both welcome)

Yep, downgrades work too

This is sweet news, bro!
I getting a black New 3DS XL in like 12 days ( I still can't believe the MM3DS console is nowhere to be found!)
Thinking in importing a MM from UK or JPN and swapping guts :P

Thx

Yeah you would probably have to get a Japanese one then

But be warned there is reports the Japanese MM console comes with 9.4
Nah! I'd probably buy an Australian one, swap guts with my black USA and sell the black (for a lower price) as Eur.
I just sold 3 Australian very quickly here today in less than 6 hours!

EDIT: Of course I'd give my warranty just like I did with the other 3 I just sold.(I have a service & repair little business here)

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

It's old but it's the best firmware out for DS stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    nvm it does support mine

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
