Hacking gateway help

hello everybody

ive been a long time reader, but now im writing to you because i dont wanna brick my 3ds

i got an 3ds with 4.5 firmware and 4.5 emunand, i got a gateway that has still the omega firmware on it since it always worked, now i want to update it and im not sure how to do it with an existing firmware on it
can i just use a tutorial or do i have to care for anything?

also can i, once i updated the firmware to 9.0.4 on the gateway, just go online with emunand and get the newest nintendo firmware 9.5?

also will it be possible to play games like mh4 online with emunand?

sorry for the noob questions

i often read about sky 3ds, is it better or is it equal to the gateway?

To update your GW card just place the new launcher file on the SD card that goes into your 3DS. When you trigger the GW exploit hold the L button to enter the GW menu and then try to load GW mode. It should ask you to update...go ahead and let it.

Yes when in emunand you update through options...make sure you are in emunand though via the GW logo next to system version.
You DON"T need to be on the latest system version to play online. All you need is the minimum version the game needs to run and the latest update of that game. No special patch needed.
