Is it a normal problem that I'm not able to connect using ctrclient, and that CFW can't load the banners of software after a set amount of time (scrolling through the apps no banners appear anymore) or freezes randomly?

Anyway to move all the content of my SD CARD with CFW, some installed games and emunand stuff onto another SD CARD?

Use win32 disk imager.
Read from the first SD to an image file, then write that file back to the new SD.
This won't work if the new SD card is smaller. If it's bigger you'll need to resize the partition to use the full space, also.

I need this question answersd since I want to dump retail saves using SDF on CFW since the Gateway save dumper didn't work on a few games... Also, if you do need CFW internet to be on, when I go to system settings to set the internet, my 3DS just crashes... help?

You can't open system settings in CFW, you have to set it sysNAND while it's still linked.

Sure you can! You only can't get into System Settings while Server Mode ("L" pressed while CFW starts). CFW and SysNAND has different settings. If you delete a Internet connection in SysNAND, it is still available in CFW (RedNAND).
You're on RedNAND. That's the reason why RedNAND is crashing if you try to open any app after taking out the SD

CFW is for installing unsigned cias without any requirement of 3ds flashcart (4.5 ds flashcart is needed to install ds exploit). Yes you can play your own backup games (convert them to cia) and others.

1/ You can play both DS and 3DS games on CFW. When finished playing DS game (using DS flashcart), run GW_install to install ds profile exploit again.
2/ You can play Zelda but Smash.

I've been unable to keep the CFW on for more than 1 minute without it freezing. Unable to open settings app, unable to power off normally, unable to install cia. Does the size of the SD card matter here too? Mine is 2GB.

1. Buy a r4i gold card from modchipsdirect
2. Install Ds exploit to my 4.2 us 3ds
3. Follow this guide for emunand using only the r4i gold and a spare 16gb card
4. Install cias and homebrew to the resulting emunad after updating it to 9.4.

That all sound correct? I have hacked my PSP, Wii, Xbox classic, Android(Rooted), etc and I think I have a basic grasp of this but better to be sure than to have a glorified brick.

Nope, a EmuNAND / RedNAND is bound to the console. You cannot use a EmuNAND from your console on any other console.
