I'm not saying what they should or should not do - I'm expressing an opinion, while providing facts. You telling me, that you'd rather spend you life playing games? It's pretty stupid if your poor to say the least. If your poor, you should be more concerned about survival - heck, how did you buy the console if your poor? Pretty dumb investment.

What about the company who developed Cubic Ninja? They closed down AGES ago, reason being that they didn't have much business - piracy gives other companies less business too. Heck, probably the reason why Nintendo charge so much for titles is because they need to re-gain what was lost to piracy.

Seriously, give me your honest opinion on why you pirate 3DS games (that's if YOU PIRATE THEM).

I personally think that pirating is a dumb route to take - think about it. Piration has a lot of flaws to it,

1. You have to mess around, getting your console to run unsigned code - too many steps
2. Online compatibility is NOT guaranteed - the game could have a unique ID and so, when you download the ROM - you'll be using the same ID as someone else.
3. You have to worry about emuNAND and "what if your system accidentally updated?" - Specific system version.
4. The game dev's gain nothing - possibility of going out of business, meaning no more games made.
5. You basically get free games from the people who spend hard-earned money on purchasing one - selfishness.
6. At risk of data loss - the risk of data loss is higher (you never know what could go wrong).

Honestly, what would you do if game devs completely gave up on developing games on specific platforms, because of their security flaws? You'd either find something else to do or buy games for a platform that is being supported.
It seems that most people are against Smealum's ideal of non-piracy - pathetic. Does anyone have any idea how much time and effort goes into developing games? Stupid. Homebrew is a great thing to have, but piracy - Hah, that's the true cheap skates route.

1) The sky3ds stuff seems pretty simple, also the number of steps is not very much and requires nothing more advanced than reading comprehension and the hand-eye coordination that you would be using to play most of the games, equally a reasonable amount of free time to mess around in is not exactly uncommon for people to have around here.
2) Has Nintendo actually pulled the trigger yet? Personally online play is something I do not do but this seems more like a potential.
3) See 1) but free time and some care and attention, which is still free.
4) Allow me to laugh even harder.
5) My sides, they are quite literally feeling like they are on fire right now.
6) No my free games* and saves for them, the horror.

*I have previously said words to the effect of "3ds has no games", I will stand by that here.

I normally buy the games I like. Perhaps I test a game before buying it for a long time until I decide to buy it.​

I don't know, but perhaps it is just convenient. Also, this way I discover that games I did not even wish to go near to are just great for me (I am buying Persona Q any moment now)​

Actually messing around with the console is one of the positives, it is really enjoyable to make it work like it should not, make it run unsigned code, break it and make it work again... that is part of the fun.​

I am not a big fan of online gaming, but as I said, if I like a game enough to play it online, I will buy it.​

So perhaps it is a convenient way to test and play something to your content and mess around with the hardware for the fun of it.​

I would love the 3DS to be more hackable actually, to see more homebrew and game fanhacks and fantranslations. I miss that from the previous generations of handhelds.​

Also I would like to make some homebrew for the 3DS, whenever I find some time and inspiration, I am not a good programmer but I could sure make my way around with the tools that are already available.​

I have always pirated and enjoyed it. The thrill is just amazing. Those "too many steps" to run unsigned code is what makes is fun; the end results. I remember, the first thing I ever softmodded was my psp. It took me an entire month to figure out what the hell I was doing. I was watching videos after videos and until I finally figured it out. In the end, I got the games I wanted and even more. There were always games I anted to play on a portable device (emulators, earthbound for example). Where I grew up, the only console available at the time was a ps3 and the only games present were fifa (Which I absolutely hated). My dad used travel back and forth to America once a year for work. When he comes back, he would get me some goodies. One time, it was the psp with megaman maverick hunter x. After I beat it. I needed more. So, I discovered the world of piracy and filled my hunger. I downloaded and pirated and made it worth my while. It is true that there are some aspects where piracy is bad to the pirate and companies. For example, when I bricked my psp, I freaked out so bad it was not funny. But I realized, unbricking my psp was another new journey and the end results were fantastic. Even now, I still do it even America because I just grew attached to it. Also, I am not so financially stable. But yeah, piracy is awesome. Period.

If you had the possibility to clone whatever you want and you saw a Ferrari for example what would be the right thing to do?
A. Save up to buy one yourself.
B. Clone it and dont care about the hard work that went into creating the car.

I buy a LOT of games and the main reasons why I own a Gateway is to have all my games on the same cartridge, Homebrews, region free and to try the games to see if they are worth buying. Also save backup is really cool!

I've done quite a bit of pirating on my part, I have to admit, main reason being that when I first started I either couldn't access them otherwise(retro and imports) or there was no way I could afford the majority of the games I played. The prices of retail games in Iceland is absolutely insane ever since the economy crash that occurred around 2008. Now that I have a more steady spending cycle and play next gen games on PC, I buy almost every PC game I have on Steam, not pirating any but few. I've also started hunting down and buying games that I really like, such as ones for GBA, SNES, N64 etc. It may not support the developers but considering I don't own a next gen console anymore it's not like I could anyway.

I'm a gaming scavenger. I pick up where the last generation left off. A cheap and expandable alternative.
