For definitely nothing, it seems. Sent a message to him, he replied saying he'll be keeping it a private project among his friends.

That's awfully dickish of him. T'would be a shame if someone said that to his face ;O; Yes, it's his work, doesn't make it any less douchey. I'd love to see someone tell him off just for the sake of pissing him off :creep:

Wow how nice of him.

I know it's his work and he has every right not to release it but I find it so infuriating that he would hint at his work, keeping documents unsecured in a rather public site with no intention of doing anything useful with it.
He didn't go into any detail with what his project entails exactly, but I doubt he's 'not doing anything useful' with it. And he wasn't actively showing off really, he never intended for anyone to find it, it was just notekeeping for his group and I guess he had a good reason for not making his pastes private.

If you spent your time insulting everyone who pissed you off, you'd very quickly have no free time for anything else :D

Because asking for the developers to release their hacks is gonna get anything done as well. Oh wait :creep: This is the Mathieu on Twitter, yes? The little jack monkey that bragged about it, stroking his e-peen like so many hackers before? XD

Doesn't always work, but you're more likely to catch flies with honey than by calling them assholes :P And no it's not, different person.

I take it that person's name won't be revealed? Are they on the Temp? If they are, either they're really smart or really stupid. If you see him you can tell him to knock it off and stop being an egotistical jerk? :creep: And also that these things can't be kept in secrecy forever? Hackers always find a way, and it's sure as hell fun to see them released out of spite XD

Too bad I know that people ill leak the CFW anyways.

Oooh! He revealed that he has it, whoop de shit!

You can make online documents password protected or anything beyond what he did. I call it worthless because knowledge is rather worthless if it's kept among the elite.

'Tis a shame really, if they won't, I know that others will leak it one way or another. Sanctimonious sycophants.

Honestly I don't know anything about him other than what he has on pastebin. If I did, I wouldn't have spent $3 on pastebin pro to message him hoping he'd be open to sharing :P

If you know people who will leak a usable CFW, great, because in three years any number of people have made their own from scratch and kept it private. Having an open source option to build off would be a much better state of affairs.

Would've but didn't happen unfortunately, people are selfish jerks when it comes to sharing hacks, that alone is what truly hurts the hacking scenes, not the leaks, but the withholding. As for the leak, I don't know any more information, other than the fact that it's inevitable and that it's for 9.2 CFW. Seeing these hacked get released out of spite to those who wished to keep it secret is glorious to behold. Why would people bother to make their own exploit when it's so much easier to just leak it?

Well, ideally, I'd prefer to see someone release something of their own will, rather than relying on leaks, but with how the scene is I don't see there being much of an alternative if we want it. Plus, if the leak is just binaries, like with the 4.x CFW, then there's not much anyone can do to update it when needed; it'll eventually fall behind just like the old one.

It happens, one way or another, something will be leaked I'm sure. Who will do it is anyone's guess, but it really is inevitable since hackers are so willing and giving. :P

Because this thread never was going anywhere from the start, no one even confirmed if what that pastebin data on the OP was. Was it, is it CFW? Was it part of the GW? No one confirmed what it was, so...this thread wasn't really going anywhere.

Sure as hell better than defending their decision IMHO.

I mean, what is this? http://pastebin.com/yv4pmJtm

I'm no programmer, but it looks like utter nonsense.... there is hardly any information and everyone is getting all hot and bothered. For all you know, it could just be a troll who is laughing their ass off at people's reactions.

I'm not a programmer either but I do see the 9.x KeyX in that..

It's just a string of numbers. Nothing is confirmed. I know you WANT to believe but my number one rule in life has always been never believe the first thing you see until you know for sure.

EDIT: Also, if it is the actual key, that link will have to be removed anyway because it's against the rules to share them on GBAtemp lol

Because you know, Is a thousand times better to pay money to some chinesse people you don't know for a card that only bypasses the services, and even them doesn't seem afraid of Nintendo, than releasing it to the comunity who apreciates more, and even donate for the work of the devs.

What happened with the ol' good fellas the PSP and Wii scene had? Those were amazing CFW and tweaks man.

Meh, I'm pretty sure it is the actual key since the guy seems to be a legit hacker.
