So why does it say it supports the 2DS then??? I mean why should they lie about this?

They never lied. You are putting words in their mouth. They never said downgrading is available for 2ds. They said that gw Ultra is available for 2DS.

So in the end I have to use Sky3DS because the 2DS needs atleast firmware 6.0+ to even work, which means I can't downgrade it...
God dammit I've waited for Gateway to release this shit for 2 months and now I've waited for nothing? Great.. Could have bought the Sky3DS a long time ago if I knew that earlier...

Or is there still a chance that you can downgrade a 2DS? Or making the Gateway work on a 2DS with fw 8.1?

Emm... Gateway still works in 2DS 8.1, but no downgrade options YET. Anyways, you can use the web exploit to run emuNAND

Gw works on any fw 4.x to 9.2

Err......Gateway DOES work on the 2DS. C'mon, my gateway mode 2DS is right beside me!

The only diff is that you'd have to trigger the exploit through the internet method, and not DS profile.

Please remember nobody knew about the downgrade option before the release. Everyone was waiting for the 9.2 exploit: the 4.x downgrade was a special surprise.

In fact, if you have an Android powered smartphone, go search "Gateway 3ds loader" on the playstore.

They've kindly made an android app for it.

Err........the updates already out, and to use carts of other regions, you'd have to use Classic mode, rather than Gateway mode.

The only restrictions you actually have is that you can't use the redcard in this mode .

EDIT: Would games based off the latest firmware have any trouble going online for multiplayer?
