So, wait, if our system nags for an update we HAVE to format? Ah jeez... I don't want to lose all my games and saves...

You won't lose them, just make a backup of your "Nintendo 3DS" folder on your computer, then format, then delete the new "Nintendo 3DS" from your 3DS SD card, and copy back your old one.

They won't show up on your sysNAND, but they will show up on your emuNAND(at least they didn't show up on my 4.5 sysNAND, maybe if you're on 9.2 they will show up), none of the saves were corrupted.

Oh thank god! Guess I'm off to format my emunand and stuff

BIG FUCKING QUESTION RIGHT HERE:

Maybe there's already an answer for this but .... If I dongrade the fw of my 3ds from 9.2 to 4.5 .

Can I just format it once is on 4.5 without any internet connection and still have it in 4.5 fw ?

It's because the NID of the 3ds that i bought was banned before I knew so at this moment (9.2 fw) It ask me for an internet connection to format it and seems that even with the internet conecction nintendo has the NID blocked to let me format it

Has anyone successfully changed the region of their 3DS, such as US to Japan? The only way to get JP event pokemon is for the console to be JP with JP rom. So with Gateway's region packs, is it possible?

I've got a 3DS on 9.2, currently using Ninjhax. I've been waiting for a flashcard that will work for me. Is it finally time for me to buy a Gateway?

Since I couldn't use the Gateway since I was past 4.5, I haven't payed much attention to how they actually work. Two questions:

Does it work on 9.2 now, or is it just that I can now downgrade to 4.5 and be able to use it?

Will I be able to play ROMs and get on the eShop, together?

Sorry if these questions are repeated, or if I should ask them somewhere else. Thanks.

Yes, it can be run on 9.2, and it's recommended to downgrade to 4.5 since you would not require internet access to do the exploit.

Yes, you can play roms and go to the eShop using emuNAND.

Which post are you referring to? As far as I was aware the nag is just a nag, as long as you don't ever tell it to update you can just not worry about it.

Is this wrong?

Any News for 2ds Owners? Can't downgrade to 4.5

Have they confirmed any offline solution is coming?
It will not be possible to downgrade a 2DS to firmware 4.5, since that firmware doesn't have the software to support the hardware. Same goes for the N3DS which will never be able to have firmware 4.5

Maybe they will make a custom firmware but i wouldnt mess with that to be honest.

any info on when support for my new 3ds will come out for gateway?

Probably not for a week at least, because there is supposed to be a surprise coming first. Also I read rumors that the GW team is taking a break after releasing this beta.

Just wanna double-check--if I system format, I'll get rid of the system update nag, until it redownloads again? A few people have said this in the past, with the method of back-up SD card, then format, then deleted 3DS folder, then copy back old SD.

I wanna make sure as the system format asks that I turn on wireless stuff.

What do you have right now?

Gateway? EmuNAND? 9.2 N3DS? what are we dealing with?

I'm not up on the vernacular. Gateway mode is 9.4 (with proper GW before 9.4), while normal system is still 9.2. Gateway exploit in webbrowser works fine, but got nag from using wifi exploit often.

Yes system format should get rid of the update nag. On newer firmwares you'll have to connect to the internet, but it's so that Nintendo can unlink the NNID, it's not to update your system

Thanks :) What's the deal with unliking NNID? Anything big lost with it?

So you should system format to remove the update nag, and it will also unlink your emuNAND and sysNAND, which will mean you also don't need to worry about the unwrapping bug :) Just make sure to eject your SD before formatting. b

You can only play your legit eshop games from emuNAND. Only downside.
