No, it's not possible. You won't find 3DSs in store still on 4.5 anyway. If you live in the EU you can return anything within 14 days as long as its in good condition even if its opened. You could try opening and returning until you get 9.2 or below. It's a bit unethical though.

Don't give out incorrect info. You can by looking at the serial. And you can still find 4.5 and lower 3DS XL's here in Portugal at least, brand-new, sealed. It all depends on your country and your market. Our economy is tiny, hence stores still have a lot of old stock.

Not even 4GB ROMs need exFAT. Trimmed, they always take less than 4GB by a few hundred megs, and really you'd only have to trim ONE BYTE off them so they can work on FAT. Only 8GB ROMs(max possible size btw) would need trimming.

Etheboss: Not exactly... there is no permissions system, and a couple of other technicalities, like non-journal-based file table, which leaves it more prone to some types of corruption compared to NTFS.

Yeah but used consoles are uncommon generally (people sell them on eBay). You could still give it a go although with used consoles their 14 day return policy might not apply.

there is plenty of 4.x consoles available if you go look for them, there is plenty of second hand shops with plenty of 3ds consoles in them.........have you actually looked in a shop?

also people have still been getting 4.x consoles from the likes of argos and tesco.....they really are not rare

There is always various factors, look at Sony they just announced due to 'various factors' they delayed their launch of PS4 in China.

But don't worry GW is working non-stop around the clock to get this update out the door and to be perfect, they been so busy at it, they not even replying to emails or other crazyness and alll efforts are focused on this big update, and when you finally see it you be amazed alot of shit has gone into this update, more then any other one in the past, more testing, more firmwares, more features, and there is alot more info then just a file to upload, with the QR codes and guides and pictures, this update is bigger move forward then the multi-rom update was.

He probably means "an hour" when he says "an hour," whether or not its an accurate estimate of when the update will launch is a different question. It's not like he's purposefully deceiving people, he probably genuinely thinks that in about an hour the update will launch and he's not a liar if it doesn't he would simply have been incorrect about his estimate.

i got a white 4.5 3ds xl from argos stores at the end of october so if you need a 4.5 xl get it from argos peeps in the UK
