I have been working on this for a good 2 month now and I just wanted to reveal to the world what I was working on. It's a fully working (well, supposed to) editor for Phoenix Wright games. Right now, it is very basic (you can only change text and events. The pause, animation, and sound editing currently just break the game) and only supports one game (Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney). It also can't properly parse text (weird script events and you can't edit the colors... yet!).

I will release this amazing piece of celestial ambrosia this year.
Stay tuned!

Hi WaryLouka,
I was wondering how you are "decrypting" the commands between the text. Do you just try them by yourself?? Do you have some documentation about it??
You know there is already a more or less working text editor for the games...right??
All your events probably are missing some variables: i.e. <<Pause:xx>> where xx is how long it has to pause.
By the way, if my memory isn't wrong if it works for PWAA, it should work for all 4 games of the main serie (not including the Anthology game and the 2 Investigations).

The old tool isn't what I'd call something reliable in the slightest.
If you re-insert back the unmodified dump with it in-game and it breaks story paths glitching everywhere, you know you have a problem.

Nice work.
It will only works with AA series or AAI too ?
If so, feel free to ask AAI1 text specs if you need them since I made an editor for it too (text is located in overlays and it's a really mess).

It's pretty much trial and error to find the right commands. I'm currently making a PDF for them, and if you wish, I'll send it to you first.
Also, for the <<Pause:xx>> thing, you can see that you can manually set the pause time under the Sound selection tool.
For the other games thing, I tried them all and it apparently only works with PWAA. Well, it can run at a point where the main menu is shown, but booting up a case just shows gibberish on the screen before crashing.

Nice work.

Its been a while since i played around those games but I think to remember that at least 3 of the main games should work.
What i can think of, is that the other games have the same file system but in an archive.
Anyway, some years back i was playing around with the PWSE and started write some documents about it.
I never finished it because i slipped into the AAI2 translation but maybe you can find something usefull in here:

Just take it with a grain of sault, the spanish things are not my and the rest is mostly unchecked.
