Hacking Gateway 3DS working on the New Nintendo 3DS.

Honestly pal, I don't think it has been. There have been rumors about it using a QR-based exploit, and most of the users posting in the GW threads are antsy 12-yr-olds who know nothing of the craft.

Well I suppose there is a slim chance of this being legit, but where would this person have gotten said info from? Thats what mainly concerns me, and others too I believe. For now take it with a grain of salt.

Don't trust the guide for now. It's based on the assumption that the entry point for gateway's exploit is the Mii Maker QR codes (assumption made on the fact that on the demo video by gateway the console booted with Mii Maker selected).
Wait for the exploit to be available to try turning your wifi on if it will be really necessary.

Wasn't talking about the exploit, I wanted to use FTPony to transfer some stuff over to my SD card.

As far as I'm aware you won't get update prompts when connected to Wifi if you disable automatic software downloads.

but if anything, it's purely just update prompts, right? Which will go away if I use emuNAND (Although will still be present on my sysNAND)

Seems oddly specific for speculation...

at 00:12 the console moves to Mii Maker (instead of being there when rebooted, my bad)
This is why some people think that to install the exploit you should use Mii Maker (and a automated way to install it would be the QR code reader, the one in the photo on the "guide" seems to be one of QR codes used in ninjhax)

As far as I'm aware you won't get update prompts when connected to Wifi if you disable automatic software downloads.

The 3DS actually will notify you about the update, and will try to download the files through spotpass even if you didn't opted in to receive softwares automatically (and even if you accepted, the 3DS normally will only download an eShop shortcut to the home menu).
To disable the update naggin you have to format the console.

You have to go into emuNAND every time you boot, so you'll see the prompt every time you power it on if it does download. :S

I remember it being like this...

The SysNAND has it's variables and the emuNAND has it's variables..
Let's just say we have a variable called isWifiActivated.

When you enable it on the SysNAND, it won't be enabled on the emuNAND.
This also applies the other way around.

I could be totally wrong since it has been a while that I had SysNAND and emuNAND running.

I got mail from them. But not about release. I was asking it will be include 6.2 with upcoming release. They said yes.
