Yes, actually I am a programmer and have made games on Xbox360/One and PlayStation 3/4 and DS/3DS actually.. and no... you always have dadlines and milestones. you know when you will be done. you dont have "emergency come up OMG huge delay".... and if you do, its not "one every 2 days for a month".
Its a small hack team, working on a large project.

They are playing more at the Kernel level with what they do, whereas game development your given a set of APIs to work with.

Have you tried developing your own kernel from scratch? Worked with Assembly? Hex editing?

There's a lot of things that can go wrong.

Take a look at what happened with Dolphin Emulator earlier this year. There was always a bug playing Wind Waker on it where fire caused odd effects in Dragon Roost cavern, and the only thing that was wrong was that someone used a wrong Hex in the code a long time ago. All it took was one small thing to mess everything up, and a small fix to fix it.

Things like this come up all the time, and its not fun. Believe me, I have contributed to many open source emulators and working at lower levels like that can be very time consuming and painful.

Wait until the knightly onslaught of people come over preach their morals on you.
"You're on their time"
or
"You are to blame for buying a product not supported yet."
Etc.

There's one thing that stinks more than Gateway, and its this "shititude" that a lot of people have here.

I agree. They are being pretty shitty ATM. But these comments are mostly just people justifying delays to keep their hype from dying.

If we just try and accept that Gateway's always going to be months late, there would be no hype.

It's a hype-defence mechanism. :gba:

But if you think about it... it takes ZERO work, to just say you have something working, put together a video "faking it", then just disapear with the cash. I mean if there is no way for them to overcome anything past 4.5, its either give up and close shop. Or give up and close shop but first rake in as much as you can. Noone can do anything against you since they would be admitting to piracy. And there are sooooooooo many excuse to stall the release.. like "we are adding aditional support" and "setting up servers" etc etc.

Really?

Every dev team I know, and I would personally release FW for 9.0-9.2 (as this covers MAJORITY of your customers, since you told them to update to 9.2), then make new releases when new versions are added. Any PR handbook will tell you, holding back releases like this is terrible for your business. Releasing 9.0-9.2 would cover at least half of the people waiting for the release, make them happy and avid supporters. Holding back like this to appease a tiny fraction of the users that are still on 6, 7 and 8 is moronic!

Unless there is no FW, and they are just coming up with excuses until sales dry up then they get a nice condo in Hawaii and retire.

Not like this exact thing hasnt happened in the scene in the past... WiiKey is one example I can think of off top of my head. DS-Xtreme is another... actually by track record and all this wishy washiness DS-Xtreme is almost exactly like Gateway, almost as if they are the same people.

At this point this seems even more likely than that they really have an exploit working...

Thats ONE shitty sales team then, yikes.

at this moment,i quite agree with you.
there are no firmware.
they just want to rise their sales so that they can sell most of their cards.
then they go to Hawaii and retire.

So is it still coming by the end of the week (sunday) or is the last email someone posted valid and do they need 2-3 days more?

We have many emails saying the end of the week, and one saying 2-3 days.

Right. I think that unless more people get the 2-3 days response, we can safely 'ignore' it.

Although if it is genuine, they said it 'will' be released in 2-3 days. They haven't said 'should'; they haven't given themselves any leeway. Something concrete, at the very least.

Gonna ask in here rather than making a new thread.

What format does a sd card need to be for the 3DS?

I've got a 64GB SD card knocking about that I could put to good use with all of those CIA files :D.

I have a question, does GW work online as in, i can play PKMN ORAS online and smash bros too?
