i wouldn't put it pass the chinese resellers to jack up the price...Demand X supply.. where Supply can be controlled..artificially.

thats breaking the law here in the UK, business's have been fined for it... they wont be able too /s
Well actually I find it hard to believe that the goverment would care for this little shop which is selling gateway. Its not worth the effort

The price can and will go up if the demand is there. It's already slowly happening in China with the interest of Gateway cards picking up lately, the price is slowly raising ever so slightly.

im glad you saw my /s tag and knew i was being sarcastic /s

Nah, IIRC the countdown began from the time they made this 48hr prediction.

So only 24hrs left.

Edit: maybe it's the 36hr prediction? I can't remember.

Edit 2: my bad, you're right. If we take the 48hr prediction, we have 32 left.
You guy just want to see me fail, don't you

Which is exactly why I risked getting my Gateway before the update was even released.
Once the big tech and gaming sites start reporting this, it's gonna be hell on earth.

We've seen this so many times before. Take Cubic Ninja for example.
They were all gone within MINUTES after Ninjhax was released, and it wasn't even a kernel exploit.

It's basic economics knowledge...

If a product has a higher demand, the price goes up.
That's only half the story, you're talking about supply vs. demand which is not applicable to most products nowadays.
How many times did the Wii go up in price when all the stores were sold out?
Supply is so well controlled for electronics that price becomes a whole different beast.

Hmm, true...
I've read about the manufacturing costs of the Gateway Card yesterday and I assume they still have a shitload in the backyard to sell.

I can't speak for the UK but a single report to the ACCC of Ozmodchips price fixing and providing proof that all resellers jacked up their price at the same rate at the same time, and they'd get fined on the spot, not worth the risk, they will be enjoying a huge boost in sales either way, there is no reason to get caught up in a price fixing scheme.

2Hack says within 24 hours, emails are saying should be by the end of the week.
I was told by my source that it was by the end of the week, but Friday seemed resonable. That's why I chose 48 hours. To stay on the fair side if his prediction, while keeping hype levels up :P

That said, dont take it as an excuse if you dont want to. I said early on with my predicition exactly this. I'm still hoping really hard and expecting that it pulls through today :D
