I want to buy a Gateway.
A previous version of gateway can drive a new version(9.x)?
When is publication date of 9.x ?

Hi there, My 3DS is currently on 9.2. There is an update of my Pokemon X (1.3) online but eShop lets me update newer system firmware (9.4). The question is that, is there a way to update to newer software manually without system update? Cheers.

Nope. Any update method currently available will take you to the latest.
I advise not to try updating anyway.
If you want that Pokemon update, you'll have to wait for GW 9.2 support.

You can download game updates manually and install them through Gateway, I can't remember the specifics

I guess you're right on that one. pretty sure eshop content is region locked.
does that apply to eshop games too?
Like if I installed a US eshop game on my pal new3DS would it work?
I was under the impression the .cia's themselves weren't region locked but the game updates just needed to match up with the right region because of the region specific programming needed.
