It's furstrating that there's nothing on the main page or loader to indicate if we've correctly updated.

I replaced the boot.3dsx on my SD card, deleted by Cubic Ninja save, went to the Ninjhax site and generated the QR code and took a photo of it, which seemed to have worked. I *think* I've updated, but I don't see any clear indication.

Whenever you are starting the Homebrew exploit there will be a date and time set on the top page after it loads 100 percent. If that date is anything but 20th of November 2014 you downloaded the correct one.
Also, there is no way to download the original one anymore unless you saved the QR code somewhere.

Thanks - I think my initial mistake was failing to connect to the internet.

once updated it should say "ninjhax v1.1" instead of just "ninjhax" when loading.

It's written "seems to have give up", which is not the same thing, except if you don't know how to read. And with the price of Cubic Ninja, I don't really think it would be cheaper now anyway if all you search is a cheap way to get free region.

Not that you would buy a gateway, even if it was 10 bucks with all the posts you like to bitch against it.

Better post the link (http://gbatemp.net/threads/blargsnes-snes-emulator-for-the-3ds-wip.369900/page-79#post-5228104) rather than just playing the troll as you usually seems to do by spreading "guess" as "absolute truth".

I'd honestly rather spend $10 than $80 for region-free, although a free option is definitely best. Although region-free only seems to work either in emuNAND or when running roms on a GW card.

Anyways, I'd better update my copy. Best to keep it updated rather than keep my system "stable".

Even if you're not into 3DS roms, Gateway is worth is for EmuNAND, .cia support, ability to load Ninjhax etc. as well as region free. It's a one-off purchase.

Here's me trying to save valuable seconds by referring 'fix for region lock' as 'region lock', assuming people knew what I was talking about. Oh sweet irony, let me nuzzle your bosom.
I assumed you knew I was teasing you.

I don't know much about the 3DS (an issue I need to fix if I'm ever going to write homebrew), but if it's like the Wii then you should just be able to launch the game through homebrew (maybe write a couple patches to the memory) and it should skip the region check. If a region check is done in the game itself or by the hypervisor (anything other than the "system menu") then it's more complicated.

This message was for "the_randomizer" only.

You can also use region free on classic mode, so you can play real foreign carts with it.

I was assuming you were assuming I understand the sarcasm and was henceforth also being sarcastic.

On smealum's ninjhax website confuse me a bit. Look like smealum did not update his ninjhax website is one problem for people to download which version is right for us to download file. I look at his messages on his twitter:

ninjhax v1.1 is up! no change in exploits, just a better 3dsx loader + new HB service commands.

I think I should replace only 3dsx file in my SDHC card to get update? Right?

I don't want to do re-scan qr code again, again to avoid connect to Nintendo server to nag my 3DS XL for new firmware update than 9.2 because exploit is not changed yet.

Right now for me personally, Ninjhax is more than suffice for what I need. I'm waiting for the New 3DS XL to come out in America, when it does and i know the firmware it ships in here and what does and doesn't work with the New 3DS at that time, I will consider the Gateway. Gateway's past behavior leaves me wary to say the least, and with reports of a DSTwo+ in the works, should that come out by the time I get my new 3DS and it works on the New 3DS, I'll be getting the DSTwo+ over the Gateway for sure, even if the Gateway too works at that time for the new model that ships with whatever firmware it ships with, as I've never once seen any suspicious/odd/questionable behavior from the DSTwo team in the past, so I'm not wary of their products in the slightest. Anyway, for now on my standard 3DS, Ninjhax is all I need for my homebrew needs, and I'm in no rush to play any 3DS roms with the fantastic selection of official 3DS games that I own.
