Which I'n fairly confident they won't release due to being sycophantic to Nintendo, because, reasons. AmI wrong? I really hate it when hackers show what they can do, but refuse to let others do so.
Lol, that is how it works. Same as the iosu exploit that people rarely even reference.

Love the mentality these people have, it's cute. I hate the fact that files can be extracted from Wii U games, but the hackers are too damned prissy to reveal how they did it. Are they sucking Nintendo off out of respect or what?

"Look what we can do, but you guys can't have it, gotta show our respect for Nintendo's IP."

The assumption that is made about having/needing the commonkey to have access to the wii u filesystem is wrong.
Chadderz and MrBean proved access to files (on the fly) with Mario Kart 8 hack(ppc Kernel/CafeOS exploit)

But we don't want on-the-fly. We want all of the files from a disc.

The reason why I chose "on-the-fly" was it is usually more difficult than just using the wii u(as an example) to access files from ram after wii u has already done the hard part and been used to decrypt them.

This was never an assumption of ours. It's pretty obvious that games (running on the PPC) can access the disc.

Like I said, the means to ripping models will never be publicly available due to the typical pusillanimous mentalities of said hackers. Am I wrong? They can rip models, whoop dee shit, but the news doesn't mean a flipping thing to us since we need the common and title keys, which AFAIK, won't be released unless someone leaks it. At this rate, the hackers are far too scared to release it because, Nintendo sycophancy/loyalty, etc etc.:creep:

I mean, unless someone can prove to the contrary, unless there is some other way to extract and decrypt files?

talk all you want, when shit gets wrong only hackers get sued and harassed while you sit and enjoy your beer or whatever, it is a risky business and i find nothing wrong with what they do.
cover your ass first before you help others , this is how sane people conclude actions.

I did NOT realize that the 3ds commonkey had been released (/me said sarcastically - [Merry Christmas/belated Happy Chanukah(Hanukkah) /early Happy New Year]). :-)
I mean the 3ds could NEVER have all of these advances without a PUBLIC release of the 3ds commonkey. :-)

I hope you see my point.
It's really "unnecessary" for advances but just much more convenient. You don't need the wii u (or 3ds) to be an Oracle(if you have the commonkey). In fact, the commonkey just makes ownership/access to hardware unnecessary to all who want to explore.

I just need clarification on what is truly needed to decrypt files from ISOs, that's all. If that's the case, then besides manpower, what's stopping it from being done?

Sheesh, don't need to jump down my throat, I just need clarification on what is truly needed to decrypt files from ISOs, that's all. If that's the case, then besides manpower, what's stopping it from being done?

I was NOT my intention "to jump down my(your) throat". I even added smiley faces and some happy holiday greetings.

Well, with the PS3, they messed up their security so bad that you could calculate the private key (the super-classified key that lets you sign things, NOT the public key) from the public key.

From what I can tell, the Wii U doesn't have that big of a blunder.

If your have the private key, why does the firmware matter? I don't have a ps3 and only had a Wii and 360.
