lol so the game transfers to a Read only memory......this is a pretty poor and completely made up explanation of how someone would imagine sky3ds works
Yeah, this is the point his credibility went out the window for me too.

Rewritable Read Only Memory lol. Nice try OP.

Can we get that warning level increased? OP has insulted my intelligence.

Edit: Perhaps a mod change the post title to something little more accurate and little less misleading?
Something such as "Understanding how sky3ds works: As told by somebody who has no understanding of how sky3ds works."

Blah, no user would know unless they are ready to break that card open themselves to dissect. Playing some LoL.....

Nah common sense and PCB shots are enough for a reasonable explanation.

I came here expecting GC protocol details, had laughs instead.
Was not disappointed.

Ha so I read the thread title and I'm like all right let's hear this guys opinion of how Sky3ds works...and it's just some freaking pics restating what it does more than how it works. Y'all are Cray Cray in a silly way

you understand that the post is not entirely serious
of course there's more to it but this is the most simple I could do for idiots out here

Well, EPROM for example stands for Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory. And this is an universally used definition. There are many variants like EEPROM, E2PROM, FLASH ROM...
There is no contraddiction at all since all of them are devices which, once programmed, are accessed only for reading purposes by the system.
The fact that they can be deleted, rewritten and modifyed does not change their ROM nature for the system were they're meant to be used. :)
(Of course I know that mentioned ROMs types can be reprogrammed in circuit using high voltages or other tricks to put them in write mode, but this in an extra ordinary operation which cannot be assumed as an ordinary write access.)

Thank you, finally, gbatemp has some technical knowledge, just by googling.
