1. Is it possible to play super smash bros for 3DS and connect with your Wii U to transfer custom characters?

2. Is there or will there be cheat support for Gateway users?

3. Is it possible to take a powersave backup, edit the save to add content to it and encrypt it back for the original cart to restore back to its game?

I know the 3rd question isn't necessarily gateway related but I still want an answer for it if possible. I'll consider buying a gateway if cheat support is confirmed now or in the future.

Yes

It's not a priority for GW user so will be later

Don't know. Current is no

Why bother getting a Gateway when you can already cheat by using Powersaves? It's a nice feature to have, but probably not a priority of the Gateway team since Powersaves is already doing cheats.

Yes, yes and no.
You can cheat by save hacking but your game needs to be converted to either Card2 or CIA if it's a Card1 game. And there's no easy save editor for most games so you'll have to edit it manually. It's not as convenient as PowerSaves but for the games that do have an editor you get a lot more control than you would with PowerSaves and for the others it's still reasonably easy to search for simple values to change, like experience points.
PowerSaves backups are stored encrypted so they're not of much use on their own, there's also no way to decrypt the saves directly and you can't decrypt the save that's on the cart either since SaveDataFiler doesn't work in Classic Mode. It's a simple change for GW to allow that to work however :)

Cause Datel sucks ass on getting exact cheats for some games. I even requested for some games to have cheats and I see EU have cheats that I want but not for the US.

Apparently they are also against cheating too so there will be some codes that will never be seen. If a real cheat device came out by a company that has balls I would ditch powersaves asap and get on that, I'm never buying from Datel again.
