PS1/2 KHIIFM OPL Won't Load Coliseum

I'm trying to play an English-patched version of Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix using Open PS2 Loader via SMB (Network Cable). I can play it just fine without any problems at all up until I go to the Olympus Coliseum for the first time. Once I hit that point, the level refuses to load, and the most that I can get is some wind sound through my headphones.

Does anybody know how I can get this to work? I went through the trouble of getting this set up so that I could play the Final Mix exclusive stuff, but the game stopped working before I could reach any of it!

Have you tried it on disc (ESR) to make sure its not a problem with the patched game?

I do recall KH2 not running well on OPL2.

I downloaded an ISO and applied the patch to it. I don't own Final Mix on-disc, only the US version.

Burn that ISO to a disc and use ESR to load it on your PS2 to see if the game itself has a problem or not.

OP's problem is that game refuse to load a certain stage. If his/her setup is at fault (router/crossover cable), game wouldn't even show up on OPL menu to begin with.

It is safe to assume that network setup is not the problem here.

Not completely true sometimes slowdown on some games have devastating effect on if it will load at all
You are mostly correct but 3 years of beta testing games found out that rarely it can cause problems and KH2FM has a on the fly patch for gummy missions but should not effect the places at all not the first report of this problem I have seen but usually cause bad patch

I've also tried using an alternate loader, "PS2ESDL" and loading from a USB drive. That didn't help at all.

A bit of deductive reasoning to come up with this. I didn't know which file in the folder was the save, so I just bundled up the whole "Slot 01" folder. One of the three files inside should be it.

Am I forgetting anything?

Actually the whole folder is the save needs all to show on MC correctly or will show corrupt now the save itself is BISLPM-66675FM-01 but for MC kh2.ico is the pic you see
icon.sys it the words color background you see

Well just used your save via SMB and used your save on VMC yes I know how to get it on one and guess what with my patched version of KH2FM that I did myself it loads
and shows cutscene of Olympus Coliseum just fine was playing some with game

Like your made gummi ships BTW

But I want you to try this one of OPL see if it works better and faster for you

BTW OPL is open source so if mods think it is not allowed well yes it is

How do I get a save file from a real memory card to work on PCSX2? I was working on getting an emulator set up so that I could see if it was the loader or the game itself, figuring that if it ran in the emulator, it was the version of OPL that I was using. It then occurred to me while setting it up that I didn't know how to convert save files.

Anyways, back on-topic now, give me a bit and I'll try it.

I've gotten the emulator working right (no idea why my US-Region PS2 gave me a Japan BIOS, had to download the correct one instead), so I'll give it a shot and see if it still keeps giving me problems. If so, I'll have to try a new copy of the game. If not, I guess I'll just use the emulator to get past this part, then switch back. (or not, depending on how well the emulator works out, I might just stick with it.)

I seriously think you have a bad patch myself that means later might have problems as well
If the OPL that I gave you did not work and can on my side and everything is hooked up to work fine with other things that only leaves the ISO at fault

The most likely problem here is that patched game simply do not work well on USB/SMB loading. Maybe PS2 ran out of memory from loader occupying it.

I just had it working fine with my ISO of the KH2FMEng over SMB and it works fine

Oh man, I'm sorry I forgot to respond for so long. Bit busy with college finals. Anyways, I found a new pre-patched copy of the game and tried it instead, and it works just fine now. Thank you for the help.

hey guys so im having the same problem with the colosseum, im using opl 0.93 and kingdom hearts 2 fm+ that i patched myself on a usb key, how did you guys got it to work?
