Yeah right, not going to do that since I just System Transferred all of my Ambassador games et al.

I'd rather keep my games than being bothered by a prompt which doesn't instantly update the 3DS

Does what? Sony fixes things AFTER people discover holes/exploits in them. Same as everybody else. Sony Studios just got hacked big time, so clearly they didn't manage to fix all entry points before something bad happened, as you are suggesting.

I'm sure it's not so much of a "Shot in the dark" as you think. They're very smart.

Remember the Twilight Hack? That exploit was extremely, extremely obscure. How would Nintendo possibly know that a custom save file containing a name for Epona that was long enough to hold a program could be a method of loading .dol or .elf files from an SD card?

The best way to play the anti-hacking game is to play defense. Watch and see what exploits are used, and then plug them. Yes, there would be some proactive efforts to patch up vulnerabilities, but it is unfeasible to comb every single line of code.

Sony/Nintendo/Microsoft don't have the pre-cogs from Minority Report working for them. Intelligence doesn't remove the probability of error in programming. Otherwise, no console in history would have had hacks/exploits available for them. Yet, here we are, with every single one of them having been exploited/hacked, save the very newest generation. And that will be hacked by the time the next generation comes along.

Bottom line: stop putting companies/corporations on a pedestal. They are often just as vulnerable as individuals, and that's a good thing. If they weren't, they would own the world lock, stock, and barrel.

I bought a Japanese 3DS and I hate anime and japanese culture and all that fun stuff. Just my opinion. I bought it because of its firmware version and cheapness.

Yes, you do need evidence to support your claims. I've provided plenty of evidence of Nintendo/Sony not fixing things until after they were hacked/exploited, so you need to provide evidence of them fixing all these supposed hacks/exploits that hadn't happened yet. Otherwise, the facts are on my side, and this conversation is over.

Of course they release bug/stability fixes and the like, but these are almost always released after an initial hack/exploit has already been discovered, so scene groups do not care if Nintendo/Sony have patched holes unrelated to the already in-use hack/exploit.

he is correct though.....best example is sony with their gaping hole in their otherwise unbreakable ps3 security, all it takes is one mistake by one lowly programmer to create a hole for people to get into the system....no matter how much people try there is no such thing as perfect security
